Wife of Twitter CEO Tweets During Child Birth

Sara Morishige Williams, the wife of Twitter CEO Evan Williams, twittered the birth of the couple's first child to over 14,000 followers. Sara's going the old school route by sending in tweets via text message. Here's a sample birth-tweet: "Dear Twitter, My water broke. It wasn't like Charlotte in Sex and the City. Now, timing contractions on an iPhone app."
Apparently, the Mercury News writes, birth-tweeting isn't as rare as you might think. Twitter, Facebook, and other live-updating services are gaining popularity in delivery rooms. Some parents are even bringing laptops into the hospital, with some expectant fathers tweeting delivery news up to the very minute. [From: VentureBeat and Baltimore Sun and Mercury News]

and this is why Twitter is seriously a waste of time.... I understand it's impact... social networking, keeping up with the 2.0 joneses blah blah blah, (douses self with gasoline waits for people to show up with a match)
but seriously folks...... Child Birth....... and Twitter.... let me repeat that...
Give it a seconds thought and you'll understand why it's a travesty that we have come to this point..... please don't reply with (but people can be caught up to date etc)
What's the point in asking if it's a boy or girl, or getting a suprize phone call and being elated.... now we can just read it and move on..... pshhh no big deal... all I can see in my head if Twitter continues is that scene in Demolition Man where they are trying to "copulate" and it's just too much.......

That's disgusting. I hope her baby is born with 6 fingers on each hand so he can tweet faster than the rest of you!
