Kidz Bop Uses Auto-Tune for Kanye West Cover

The Kidz Bop crew, known for family-friendly covers (drastically ranging in quality) of popular songs, isn't taking any direction from anti-auto-tune rapper Jay-Z. As part of a new album 'Super Mega Smash Hits... For Kids (With A Z),' the Kidz have inexplicably covered Kanye West's 'Heartless,' complete with computer-altered vocals.
Regardless of where you stand on the topic of kid-friendly covers (is it ever necessary?), 'Heartless' -- an electro-rap, downbeat track documenting a relationship turned sour from West's critically acclaimed '808s and Heartbreak' -- is an odd choice indeed. Furthermore, its creepy hearing a perfectly in-pitch chorus ('How can you be so heaaaartless?') of prepubescent kids singing the lyrics of a superstar with a flair for the extravagant. And let's be honest. Without an ego like West's, no middle schooler could ever hope to pull off the rapper's auto-tuned delivery. [From Idolator]
