Steve Jobs Spotted -- Returning to Keynote Duty at CES 2010?
Steve Jobs is more elusive than a yetti. Wearing a black long-sleeved shirt tucked into a pair of blue jeans, Apple co-founder Jobs was spotted yesterday by cameras while leaving the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California. Now that TMZ has photographic evidence of Jobs back at work after undergoing a liver transplant, the world wonders what's next. According to The Wall Street Journal, those answers might come at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show. That is, if Jobs accepts the offer to resume his keynote duties. Gary Shapiro, chief executive of the Consumer Electronics Association, says he invited Jobs to deliver the keynote address at next year's show, but as of now, he hasn't heard back from the Apple CEO. However, the Journal reports that Apple does plan on attending CES, a first for the company.
Shapiro shouldn't feel bad if Jobs snubs his offer. After all, Sir Apple is a notoriously private person, and it'd be understandable given his recent health. Yet, with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Intel CEO Paul Otellini already set to speak at CES, it would be nice to see Jobs resume his rightful position at the Apple keynote wheel. Update: The Wall Street Journal has since retracted its statement regarding Apple at CES. The Journal wrote, "It is not clear whether Apple will attend the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show." [via FT.com/techblog]

I realize that you're simply saying that the WSJ reported that Apple will be there - but aren't you part of the same Weblogs Inc. that engadget is? The same engadget that had an article yesterday by former editor Ryan Block. An article that pointed out that the WSJ is full of shit?
http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/30/wsj-apple-going-to-ces-2010-reality-nope/
Are you repeating unsubstantiated rumor for a reason?

More to the point - the WSJ has since retracted their comments in response to Mr. Block's article.

Steve Jobs is wasting his value by remaining elusive. His own experience of illness due to pancreatic cacer is diluted and somewhat wasted if he fails to take the time to help others who have the disease or even better, educate people about how to prevent this tragic illness.
I would think ,as a survivor, he would be eager to take on the work of helping other humans to survive, also. After all, didn't he go to India to become "enlightened"? Teaching others is part of that process.
Step up to the plate, Steve.
