Couple Weds With 'Katamari'-Themed Wedding

In the era of viral video, not only does a bride and groom have to worry about seating arrangements and bouquet tossing, but also how their nuptials will hold up on the Web. With the intensity of 'Star Wars' weddings, or last week's runaway hit of JK's Wedding Entrance Dance, if a couple wants their vows to make a splash on the Internet, they've got to have the serious nerd credentials.

So when Aidra and Ernest took their -- and a good portion of the world's -- favorite video game and themed a wedding around it, complete with wacky head pieces and xkcd.com nerd reference on the invitation. Yes, a 'Katamari Damacy'-themed wedding, with a Katamari ball as the cake topper, and Aidra and Ernest being rolled up.

The game, which, as the wedding invitation describes, takes place "after the universe is destroyed (and) the players must put it back together." Flush with bright colors, catchy music and a non-competitive interface, the game asks the player to help others while creating something beautiful. And that is a perfectly touching sentiment to begin a wedded relationship, odd as that may seem. Congrats, Aidra and Ernest! [From: BoingBoing and OffbeatBride]
