The Daily Engadget: More Apple Tablet Talk, Tires Made from Trees
Our friends over at Engadget obsessively cover everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics, which is why we compile this daily roundup of their top stuff (or, at least, what we think is tops). For more details on any of these stories, click on the Engadget links in each story below.

Apple Tablet Rumored to Launch in September (or Next Year)
An Apple tablet PC has been on top of the rumor mill for years now, and rumors are heating up again with a supposed 10-inch touchscreen device similar to the iPod touch slated for September, according to the Financial Times. The FT says the new device will launch with new interactive content to be made available with iTunes purchases (Photoshop image above).

Fuel-Efficient Tires Made from Trees
Oregon State University students are finding ways to make tires a little more efficient -- like adding plant fiber from trees to the tire compound. Though it doesn't affect road grip, the fibers decrease the rolling resistance, which could lead to increased fuel efficiency and lower tire costs.

Nissan's Next Cars Could Emit Scent
If you live below the Mason-Dixon line, air conditioning is a godsend this time of year. Nissan's making it even better by introducing Forest AC, a system that not only controls temp, but humidity and aroma(!) to create an "optimal interior environment." Great, one more thing to distract us on the road.

The DIY Wearable Computer
Although fashion and technology have been mingling for years now, it's still impossible to head down to your local big box retailer and pick up a head-mounted computer (or at least one you'd want to wear). Hopefully, the DIY projects at MIT's Media Lab crew will lead to advancements like Twitter and e-mail alerts in the lower-third of our vision without making us look like extras from a bad sci-fi movie.

The Baseball Playing Robots
Robots and baseball are hugely popular in Japan, so it's no surprise then that researchers would create a set of bots fit for the dugout. One bot pitches a foam ball 25 mph with 90-percent strike zone accuracy; while another, built for slugging, can hit almost 100-percent. So much for steroids -- 100 years from now, people will look back and say that this was the moment baseball lost its way.
