Couple Arrested After Trying to Hire Killer Via Text
According to reports from the News-Dispatch, authorities charged Heidi Friedburg and her live-in boyfriend William Alexander with conspiracy after their would-be trigger-man turned over complicit text messages from Friedburg. In the texts, Friedburg urges the gun-for-hire (a former co-worker) to make the hit on Friedburg's ex-boyfriend -- who was seeking custody of their one child -- seem unplanned. She typed, "i will be blamed right away if its not an accident," and then asked the hitman to inform her when the deed was done so she could provide an alibi. Friedburg and Alexander allegedly offered the man $200 and an above-ground swimming pool to carry out the hit.
Although it's too late to qualify as an entry for the first Switched text-messaging Hall of Shame, Friedburg and Alexander might just be the early favorites to top the next installment of texting's dumbest moments. It's definitely still early, though, and with daily instances of moronic texts gone awry, the couple will certainly face some difficult, hilarious, and disturbingly stupid competition. Always Turn Off Stolen GPS Units
It was only a matter of time before some numbskull criminal stole a GPS-equipped car or phone, but we didn't expect someone to steal live GPS units. A group of crooks in Lindenhurst, NY swiped 14 functioning GPS devices from the Town of Babylon Public Works. Understandably, authorities had no trouble tracking them down.
Security Cam Catches Tattooed Thief
We're not going to pass judgement on the type of tattoo you get, but you might want to think about what it says before you start getting into crime. The images of this guy were uploaded to Flickr. As a result, the man became a mini-Internet sensation, and he turned himself in, claiming he bought the laptop from a friend, at a local police station.
Things Not to Do After Stealing a Cell Phone
Gary Walker, an Ohio resident, stole a woman's phone while she had temporarily stepped out of her car to check a street sign. He proceeded to snap a shot of himself with the hot phone's camera. Later, when the victim went online and downloaded her data to transfer it to a new phone, Gary's mug popped up. The rest, as they say, is history.

Girl Recovers Stolen Mac By Remotely Activating Its Webcam
A White Plains, New York girl was the victim of burglary; over $5,000 worth of electronics, including iPods, a flatscreen TV, and a new Macintosh computer were stolen. A few days later, a friend noticed that the burglary victim appeared to be online, but called her to make sure. Because the stolen Mac was running Back to My Mac, the victim was able to log into the computer remotely and snap a picture of the thief. Turns out the thieves were "friends" who had visited the victim's apartment several weeks earlier.
Teen Arrested After Bragging About Arson on Security Cameras

Forklift Tricks on YouTube
If you're going to show off your sweet forklift driving skills to your buddies, it's probably best to just do it in person. 20-year-old Australian Matthew Garry Ward uploaded a video of safety-violating forklift tricks to YouTube, and was reported to authorities after a coworker passed the video along to the boss.
Laser Pointer Shenanigans
Remember those time-sucking high school pep rallies where some loser would whip out a laser pointer and temporarily blind people in the bleachers? This 15-year-old genius from California, was arrested after shining his laser beam at a police helicopter.

Have you ever heard of a development company can build in a city and the city is not responsible for your property?Yet,they give a permit plan but no accountability.Well, if you see Olson Development from Cypress,Calif.coming to your neighbor hood with illegal immigrants under 20 its ok by the government. So ,they can do what they want to your property and nothing can be done according to city of west covina,ca.

Ann, if the City of West Covina told you there was nothing that can be done, I think they are wrong.......all someone has to do if you suspect the work force is illegal aliens is call the INS. If they are in fact using undocumented aliens, they will face a huge fine. Even if they have already left your immediate area, if you know where they are currently working, call the Immigration and Naturalizatin Service. Good luck

Lita------Do you by any chance work for Olsen Development? AOL doesn't give people anyplace to vent the screwing that they are getting. So Ann can put whatever statement she wants anyplace on aol. Over 8 million out of work, illegals are making it harder on everybody. There will be more of them on these comment sections voiceing their opinions. There isn;t much else to do. So Lita, you talk about arrogant, self centered and stupid. If you are looking at this story about hitmen but are mad that there aren't any better tips, you will just have to come back later, don't take it out on Ann. Good Luck Ann.

Well, that sure backfired - trying to keep the ex from getting custody and she just handed it to him on a platter.

You must have read my mind. I'm happy for the kid, she doesn't appear to be a fit mother.

How many of these attempts are really successful? It seems like a very risky move just to get rid of someone. Unless that person is trying to destroy you, what is the point...convenience? I tell my boys to be careful who they have kids with as they may be stuck with them for a lifetime. It seems maybe a little prevention would serve them better than plotting to murder someone's parent.

Boy this economy has really hit low when the price of a mans life comes down to $200 and a cheap swimming pool. If my g-friend mentioned something about wanting to off her ex, I would get the hell out of there. It would be awful hard to sleep at night cuz I would be thinking I would be next, someday down the road.
