ItemNotAsDescribed.com Shows Off Craigslist Failures

Craigslist endures constant, heated criticism. But a relatively new fan-submitted site seeks to provide some Craigslist levity by highlighting the worst and mostly poorly described items on the site.

ItemNotAsDescribed.com contains an abundance of embellished "free" Craigslist items, hilariously exposing the depths of human filth and gullibility. Some of the offerings are certainly "not as described" -- like the "Modular Mobile Office Trailer," whose ramshackle walls appear to be leaking blood.

Others, though, may require alternate classifications. The pot-less "House Plant" of an unknown variety (which also happens to be very dead) and the box of unmatched "Odd Shoes" seem more like blatant attempts to lure unwitting imbeciles into removing junk. 'Revolting' would be a much more apt description of the used "Portable Toilet," whose ad boasts that "all residue <gag> has been pressure washed off."

A healthy portion of the listings seek to capitalize on the ol' "whitewash" treatment, or "How can I get some sucker to do this for me?" Highlights include an old, rusted "Awning," which happens be mounted two stories up, and a 25' "Giant Tree," which you can have for free if you're able to pull it out of the ground and then fill the resulting hole. Sounds easy enough.

While the submissions may not restore your faith in Craigslist, or humanity, the site may provide one redeeming benefit to society (other than just a revealing glimpse into human squalor). It could be a veritable goldmine for broke college students and folk artists looking for their next recycling project. [From: ItemNotAasDecribed.com, via Cnet.com]
