Just use Firefox, which is free and better, you get less spyware with it anyway. Some sites REQUIRE you to use IE or you can't use any of the links on the site or it just blocks you saying you have to be using IE.  I use firefox now and only use IE when I absolutely have no other choice.  There is one sure fire way to make sure no one can remotely control your computer.  Turn it off when not in use and unplug your internet connection for local programming.  That's what I do.  I didn't know firefox had a 3.5 available.
