Best of the Week: Fishnapping with Google Earth, Mario Tattoos

Ah, the rallying forces of the Internet. How we love to Tweet, status update, and virally inspire people to rush to our aid. Like 'Mythbusters' host Adam Savage using Twitter followers to protest $11K in excessive phone charges, or author Alice Hoffman baiting, er...asking, her fans to protest a negative review. Though, Internet rallies can turn into unconfirmed rumors, like when the blog-o-sphere went nuts with the fake news of Rick Astley's death. Sure, its great to have others as virtual support, just make sure you don't have the Web-induced Münchausen by Internet disorder. Other things that you may have missed this week include:
- Google Earth has many uses, including narrowing down where rich people keep their very expensive, very valuable fish.
- After a healthy debate over whether a video game movie has ever been decent, we set out to think of the games that have a snowball's chance to actually make a good film, complete with casts and directors.
- Oh Wired, we love you so, but why did Editor-in-Chief Chris Anderson get caught stealing from Wikipedia? If one must steal, at least filch from something with less articles about, say, made up dinosaur bones.
- Everyone's favorite Italian plumber gets an updated look when he is tattooed on fan's arms. Check out the best of Mario ink-jobs here.
- NASA steals market share from Gatorade with a sports drink made for Astronauts but finally available to the Earth-bound.
