Palin Calls Photoshopped Images 'Atrocious'

For the past several months, Linda Kellen Biegel, the author of the Democratic Alaskan political blog Blue Oasis, has covered conservative Alaskan radio personality Eddie Burke's treatment of fellow Alaskan Andree McLeod, a self-described political watchdog who has vocally and consistently criticized Palin. As Biegel's coverage wore on, she came to suspect that the Governor's office had directly assisted what she has called the Republican Burke's "smear campaign" against McLeod.
Moved to investigate the validity of her suspicions, Biegel requested that the Office of the Governor provide her with whatever e-mails might be pertinent to her investigation (i.e. any e-mails between the Governor's office, Burke, and anti-McLeod writer Sheila Toomey). After corresponding with the Governor's staff, Biegel found out that copies of the aforementioned documents could be hers -- after she paid administrative fees amounting to $5,552.64.Undeterred, Biegel began to raise money on her blog, which she then started to festoon with satirical, altered images featuring Palin and Burke. And therein began the problem. On the fourth day of her fund raising, Biegel posted the above image. In a smiling Palin's arms squirms her infant son Trig -- with Burke's face photoshopped into the place of the boy's.
Wasting no time, Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton launched this diatribe, published today by Politico:
The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling. To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democrat Party blogger for Alaska, should be ashamed of herself and the Democratic National Committee should be ashamed for promoting this website and encouraging this atrocious behavior.According to Politico, Blieger offered this statement in response:
Babies and children are off limits. It is past time to restore decency in politics and real tolerance for all Americans. The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for its party. We ask that special needs children be loved, respected and accepted and that this type of degeneracy be condemned.
It's called 'Baby Burke' because it's Eddie Burke...basically his probable second-biggest fantasy about the Governor. So, connecting the dots for you...WE'RE MAKING FUN OF EDDIE BURKE!!!!!!Still unwavering in her desire to ascertain whatever pertinent e-mails may sit in the Governor's inbox or deleted folder, Biegel is continuing her fundraiser. At the time of this writing, she reports that it has yielded $4,646.
Even though it's hard to argue with the Palin camp's statement that special needs children should be "loved, respected, and accepted," it's doubtful that Biegel even had Trig's disability in mind when she altered the image.
But, here's the rub.
If Palin wanted to preserve the dignity of her son by truly making him "off limits," she's gone and messed up. By binding her world-famous name to such a narrowly read, provincial blog, Palin has in fact -- intentionally or no -- taken this image from the mini-blogosphere of what may be the most secluded state in the Union and brought it to the attention of the world. So, now, instead of a debatably malicious image of her son appearing on thousands of Anchorage laptops, it is appearing on millions of monitors around the world. That, dear readers, we cannot stand behind. [From: Blue Oasis and Politico, via Huffington Post]

Al Gore
Last year, hackers gained access to former Vice President Al Gore's blog, where they posted links to Web sites selling prescription drugs including Xanax, Oxycontin and Lortab. It is uncertain whether or not Rush Limbaugh visited any of the sites.

Putin with Dog
This past October, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin saw a longtime dream realized when he equipped his black lab Koni with a GPS collar. Apparently, even dogs can be counter-intelligence risks.
Putin in Judo Get-Up
Always eager to display his virility, and his tech-savviness, Vladimir Putin released, and starred in, an instructional Judo DVD last year. And we thought George Bush was weird.
Ron Paul
As his campaign gathered steam at the end of 2007, Ron Paul watched -- probably confusedly -- as a group of his supporters banded together and marched in support of their candidate through the mystical realm of the World of Warcraft.

Karl Rove
Former Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove has recently entered the world of Twitter, regularly updating his page with self-promotions, answers to supporters' questions and topics for debate. How about this topic: "Does anybody really want that much Karl Rove?"
Rush Limbaugh
Unable to figure out how to back up e-mails on his Mac, a frustrated Rush Limbaugh beseeched Steve Jobs, on his radio program last year, to help him out. The problem must have been a tough fix; until this, we'd never heard of Rush asking for a Democrat's opinion.

Eliot Spitzer
After resigning from the office of Governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer finally found a new job last month, writing a weekly column for the online publication Slate. We wonder if that Playboy.com job fell through due to "a lack of moral fiber."
White House Christmas vid
Weirder than ever, George Bush and the rest of the First Family released their most eyebrow-raising Christmas video yet late last year. We're not sure what guest stars and gold medallists Michael Phelps and Nastia Liukin have to do with the Holidays, but we do know they're more popular than the still-President.

I lost my job, then my wife, then my house. I was living in the forest with my dog and I stumbled on a new business. I found cans in the ditch by the road and turned them in for cash! Now I am flush. I have a new blue plastic tarp for the rain and even cash for food sometimes. This is a great startup business for anyone or a good part time job. Try it.

see..lets get this straight, one 'liberal' woman doctors a photo of Sarah Palin's special needs son, and she is now a spokesperson for all of "them dems"??
I understand why people may be outraged, personnally I have a sense of humor, and if I was an Alaskan who followed Burke and knew more about it, I would crack a good smile.
The point Im getting at is, I am a liberal democrat and I dont doctor pictures of kids with down syndrome and post them on the internet. So why say, "thats whats wrong with all you dems out there, care about them dogs and cats and not a human being."
See dems dont say Rush Limbaugh represents every Republican, if we did then we'd have alot to say. We are all individuals and just because we believe in the same political views doesnt necessarily represent are morale views.
And what the hell is this about "doesnt represent good Christian values"??
I dont know where you live at, maybe in a cave or some trailer in the hills, but not everyone is a Christian, let alone religous.
From calling Obama a muslim, to some lazy black guy, to attacking his nationality, too numorous other things, how does anyone have the audacity too say we pick on Palin too much???
From day one of Obama being appointed president, he already had messed up somewhere in Rush's eyes, fox's eyes.
I just believe that the vexation against Obama has to do with the fact that many americans cant grasp the fact that an African-American who's name is Barack Hussein Obama, has become the most powerful person in the nation. And every racist, prejudice, white supremist, extremist, crapped there pants at the fact he won.
oh little tid bit. Con's complain saying the government doesnt need to interfere, doesnt need to control anything, why the heck is the Sen. of Utah, trying to push the idea that College Football is unjust and that the Government needs to step in and change things up.
Oh well I can see what he's getting at, I mean college football is more important than health, i mean you can still watch a game even though you have gangreen....

well put. We are now no longer individuals who can think and form our own opinions. We are now part of a whole group who must respond and share all the same ideas and beliefs. We have been reduced to labels associated to a political party. I think this train of thought is getting mighty tired but unfortunately I think the tracks are long and we are in for long ride. There are lot of ignorant people shoveling coal into the fire.

I can't believe what this country has become over the last 9 years. The aggressive fear and hatred is overwhelming. The previous administration has managed to turn people into hate mongers. What happened to the "you are either with us or against us" attitude. All that was thrown out the window when the right lost the election. Now every time somebody says anything about a conservative it's "you damn liberals" this or "you damn liberals" that. This country is being torn apart and it's happening right before our eyes. I guess 8 years of pounding fear into the American people with brut force has made this country turn against itself. Both parties should be ashamed of themselves.

John, you are an idiot. Go blow something up.

PS I hope the previous admn's.internet montering has your name by now we will miss you like poof your gone!

I would just love to see what would happen if conservatives started picking on Obama's two daughters and/or his wife's atrocious attire. But Sarah Palin, who the libs call stupid, hickish, etc etc, and her children are targets for any liberal crapbrain out there. Since when is taking your kids with you on stage for political events is "pimping them" and why does having family make a bunch of minors fodder for the liberal media vultures.
And that kid, the one who fathered Palin's daughter's child..what a low life, bottom feeding, no talent piece of crap he is. But yet the liberal media use his words as dogma as long as it is anti palin. If that kid could keep it in his pants he would be another out of work salmon fisherman.

Shows you how liberals and democrats drives someone out of office. They take no prisoners, including babies, whether normal or abnormal. To them everything is a free game. They have placed themselves to the lowest and immoral class of the society.

I am not surprised that it's women like Biegel who hate Palin. Females in general hate other females, especially if they are prettier, smarter, thinner and younger.
Biegel is just hiding behind the democratic party to spew out her viciousness. The hypocrisy about the sisterhood and love, that she and the NOW org. talk about are all liberal lies. Who are they fooling? Women in general are all phony, jealous bitches. Watch out for them. They are just big, whiny envious pussies.
boJul 14th 2009 6:16AM
I think secretly Linda Biegel is a lesbian who is in love with Palin and is bitter that she spurned her for a man. That's why she has just jealous venom for her.
Biegel should start putting deformed faces on Obama's two kids: Hope & Change. He is f....ing wrecking the economy and the country while all we see are pictures of Michelle's booty and sleeveless arms!

Wow...you would think that PUBLIC life isn't hard on everyone. Some folks are missing the point here - it was not a dig on her son - it was aimed at the TALK SHOW host!!! At least you don't have the racial slurs, death threats and other vile acts that are now being targeted at our PRESIDENT and his family. Wake up people, when push comes to shove we are ALL still Americans - let the mean spirited crap go and let's focus on our country!!! In three years we get to do this ALL OVER AGAIN!!!

Who the heck pays all this Palin advertising?????
PatriotJul 16th 2009 5:44PM
I despise Sarah Palin because of her low intellect, her self-serving whining, and last but certainly not least, the many ethics complains filed against her. No one should be attacking this candidate on anything other than the above. She should be neither praised nor criticized for her children (although she certainly does not get my vote for mother - or grandmother - of the year). But here's something I do agree with: She has been subjected to the same level of hostility as has Hilary Clinton -- because in our heart of hearts, we hate powerful women. We don't like uppity women. That's what is really behind the whole abortion and sex ed debate - we don't want women to have the power to make decisions about their lives (god forbid they should be in a position to make decisions about the rest of us). The way that Judge Sotomayor is being spoken to is an outrage -- I have never heard a candidate for the Supreme court told to "reflect" or "watch out for being told they are tough". WOMEN HATING is behind all of this. It's contempt for women that even led to Palin's selection on the McCain ticket - contempt for her and for American women voters. Let's just call this what it is, finally.

Bristol is old enough to make her own decisions? She may be old enough, but certainly not mature enough. We all know how her last big decision turned out...Furthermore, children of politicians should be off limits, no matter if they are disabled or otherwise, but if your children are causing a stir, it's a reflection on you as a parent…therefore, your perceived ability as a leader. If you can't properly parent your child/children...how do you propose to lead the people? You conservatives can't have it both ways. If she were a Dem, you Reps would be all over it and think this sort of thing was funny as hell and would be emailing it to all of your friends.
