We never thought it was possible, but Jimmy Fallon has emerged victorious from his round of virtual golf with megachampion Tiger Woods. The match took place in New York City's Times Square, and the witty talk-show host bested the champion golfer at his own game (the Wii version of 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10'). New York isn't treating Tiger too well: Just last week, he failed to defend his U.S. Open title at Bethpage Black out on Long Island. [From: Joystiq]

No Retrial for Pirate Bay

Back in April, the founders of the popular Web site Pirate Bay were convicted of facilitating copyright infringement in what's likely to be a landmark case for digital rights. Now, a Swedish appellate court has denied a retrial, despite Pirate Bay's claim that the judge in the case was biased since he belongs to a number of Swedish copyright groups. [From: Wired]


Google is a Digital Vampire, Says WSJ Publisher
Google has changed the landscape of the digital (and print) world, especially for the media industry. Dow Jones CEO Les Hinton (publisher of the Wall Street Journal) recently referred to Google as a digital vampire that sucks the blood of newspapers. Of course, Hinton admitted that it was the newspapers' own fault for making the content free in the first place, but it's still surprising to hear the claws come out like this from someone so high up as Hinton. YouTube has announced on its blog that mobile uploads to the site have increased 1700-percent in the last six months thanks to an easier upload process, better social network integration, and more video-equipped phones on the market. Then, there's the iPhone 3G S, the first iPhone with video capability... Since Apple's latest wonder-device dropped last Friday, YouTube has seen a 400-percent increase in mobile uploads.
