Twitter Getting a Reality TV Show?

Twitter is going Hollywood. Well, kind of. Although, contrary to rumors, no official Twitter TV show will make its way to the airwaves anytime soon, Twitter has indeed signed a deal with Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, known for such shows as 'Politically Incorrect,' 'Just Shoot Me' and 'The Steve Harvey.' Per that agreement, the microblogging service will be featured in an as-yet-unnamed reality show.
The involved companies have described the show to Variety as "putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format." We're pretty sure that by "revolutionary" they mean, "It's exactly the same as this other reality show except we're gonna have people Twitter!"
This may be a sign that Twitter's days as the darling of tech elites and celebrities are coming to an end. If the social networking service is prominently featured on a successful reality show, you can expect teenage girls and middle-aged housewives to increasingly flock to the service, just as they did to Facebook.
