Twitter Much? You Could Get Paid for It.

Despite its raging popularity, Twitter often receives criticism for being the realm of the narcissistic and self-indulgent. Combine that with a proliferation of celebrities and extreme overexposure in the media, and it's easy to see why a hard-working, everyday American might dismiss the site as totally worthless.
Before you judge too quickly, the New York Times earlier this week reported that a variety of corporations are trying to hop on the Twitter bandwagon. This means potential jobs for proven Twitterers.
One particular company, the Murphy-Goode Winery of California, is currently looking for a social-networking maven to tweet, blog, and send Facebook updates about the vineyard and its fermented libations. The job -- which some people gladly do for free -- pays a whopping $10,000 a month, and amazingly provides free accommodations. So far, over 500 people have applied.
Murphy-Goode isn't the first company to explore hiring "social media specialists." Dunkin' Donuts, Southwest Airlines, and several other major corporations already pay an employee to tweet, and we're sure many more will follow suit. Only time will tell, though, if these new positions will have a lasting impact. We also wonder if the companies might grow bored and quit after a month, like 60-percent of Twitter's other first time users. [From: The New York Times]

"Twitter Much? You Could Get Paid for It." ... Hmmm
You obviously have made no dime from it. This is all about a bad title or a misconception.
Does anybody know somebody getting rich from Twitter?
Does anybody knows that you can get suspended with no further notice or explanation?
Do you think they care?
All of this Qs have one answer NO.
So can you make money with Twitter is obviously a bad question. Because you cant make a divided dime by 100 from it.
I am expecting headers like "Twitter sucks?" and "Twitter nothing but a bad joke" in the near future.
Cheers,
PS: Apply for a job and then get suspended HAHA
PPS: nice post anyways. Good job!

There is a lot of value in companies' use of social media like twitter. 1. It is an extension of the brand. 2. It humanizes the company. 3. It allows the brand to participate in the groundswell of user generated word of mouth communication. 4. The brand can add value to customers. 5. The brand can listen, learn, improve and innovate based on insights gathered from involment in social media.
