The Daily Engadget: Palm's Pre on June 6th, iRobot's Tiny Military Hotspot Bots

Our friends over at Engadget obsessively cover everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics, which is why we compile this daily roundup of their top stuff (or, at least, what we think is tops). For more details on any of these stories, click on the Engadget links in each story below.

Palm Pre Officially Launching on June 6th
There has been a ton of speculation about when Palm's Hail Mary smartphone will come to retail, but the company has finally ended it, confirming that the Pre will drop on June 6. That's just a little over two weeks away -- and only two day's before Apple's massive Worldwide Developers Conference event, where the next iPhone is expected to be announced.

iRobot Debuts Ember Bots
Robotics company iRobot makes everything from Roombas to lethal military-spec bots, and its latest product, the Ember, falls somewhere in-between. It's a little tank that is effectively a mobile hotspot, able to find its way through battlefields to keep communication lines open. We finally know what those little black droids skittering around the floor of the Death Star were. Still a long way from production, though.
Boeing's EMP Weaponry Nears Readiness
An electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) has the potential to wipe out an enemy's electronics in one shot, but traditionally requires a nuclear blast to generate (troublesome, what with all the death and devastation). Boeing is looking to change that, with ground and air based EMP weaponry that's only a few years away from testing.

LG and Samsung Both Sell 20+ Million Touchscreen Phones
Think the iPhone is the only hot property on the touchscreen front? Think again. LG and Samsung are both touting sales that exceed 20 million apiece -- more than 1.6 million phones per month for the last two years. That's a lot of thumbprints.

Nokia Goes Low End with 2720, 2730, and 7020
Nokia phones rarely get subsidized prices as part of wireless plans here in the U.S., but the company is launching three new handsets that are cheap enough that it really doesn't matter, each ranging in price from $74 to $108, while offering sleek designs and 3G wireless connectivity.
