iPhone data prices dropping?
BusinessWeek is reporting rumors that AT&T may offer cheaper data plans for its runaway hit, the Apple iPhone. AT&T currently offers only a $30 unlimited data plan for the phone (though text messaging is limited). A new plan may offer capped data access for about $20. [From: Ars Technica and BusinessWeek]
Miley Cyrus is not f*t
The 'Hannah Montana' star recently learned a lesson about over-sharing on social networks. After stating on Twitter last week that she had jiggly thighs, Cyrus received nasty comments from a few of her 614,503 followers deriding her imagined pudginess ("im a normal girl theres things about my body i would change but stop with calling me f*t in post. i don't even like the word. ") The 16 year old responded with "those remarks that you hateful people use are fighting words. the ones that scar people and cause them to do damage to themselves or others."Phew. [From: Reuters]
Web approaching one'Zettabyte' of data
It may sound like a nonsense word from the 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.' But zettabyte is a real term meaning one billion terabytes. Writing in the New York Times yesterday, Om Malik reported that the Encyclopedia Galactica (AKA the Worldwide Web) is expected to encompass that mass of data within a year – largely due to unfettered sharing on social networks. Obama orders better mileage for US cars
The Obama administration recently announced new rules that will require automakers selling in the US to offer fleets that average 35.5 miles per gallon by 2016. Essentially mandating a far-larger role for hybrid and diesel vehicles, the rules are expected to keep 900 million metric tons of greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere. [From: Wall Street Journal]
Wolfram's Answerbot
The world came a bit closer to getting a "do what I mean" button on Friday with the launch of the Wolfram Alpha Web answer service. Instead of inputting key words and getting a list of (possibly) relevant Web sites. Wolfram lets you type in specific question such as "How far away is the moon right now?" and get a specific answer.

Treasonous Friend Request
Israel's security agency, Shin Bet, is warning citizens to beware interactions on social networking sites, noting that enemies are using the services to recruit spies. In one case, for example, a man who identified himself as a Lebanese agent offered in Israeli citizen money in exchange for information about Israel. [From: USA Today]
