Dog-o-Matic, a Washing Machine -- for Your Pooch
If you're interested in completely losing your dog's trust and possibly ruining your chances of a happy afterlife, you can't do much better than the Dog-o-Matic, the newest product from French entrepreneur and part-time sadist Romain Jarry.
Here's how it works: stick your dirty dog into the oversized capsule, swipe your credit card (it costs $47 for the full package wash), and wait for the whimpering to begin.
"It doesn't take long to wash the dog -- usually a few minutes," Jarry told the Daily Mail. "The longest part is the drying. The dogs don't seem to get bored. They just sit there and they come out clean."
Clean, and thinking about killing you in your sleep for putting them through such trauma. The machine is apparently doing fairly well in France, and is slated to hit the UK next. [From: Daily Mail, via Dvice]

That's so lovely. Why don't they invent one for babies while they are at it. Honestly, how much trouble is it to wash your dog? I am a dog groomer, and I am surprised when people bring in their CHIHUAHUAS to get a bath, why can't you do it yourself at home, are you that lazy??? I would be scared this machine would malfunction and drown my dog. I'm sure it can happen.

I love DIRTY DAWGZ!!!! A do it yourself dog wash chain here in the states, wish I had come up with this idea. It can be hard work to bathe your dog, but when you get to do it using professional facilities/tools, it's great!

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE. THIS IS BEYOND SICK. HOW UTTERLY LAZY SOME PEOPLE ARE, TO DO THIS TO AN ANIMAL. I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE A PET. THESE PEOPLE THINK IT IS FUNNY WHEN LIL' JOHNNIE PULLS THE DOG'S EARS, AND LET THEIR KIDS TAKE THEM FOR A WALK. AND WHEN THE DOG IS KILLED BY A CAR, (BECAUSE KIDS CANNOT BE TRUSTED WITH AN ANIMAL) THE PARENTS ARE THE FIRST TO ASK...WHAT WENT WRONG? I ALSO HATE WHEN I AM AT A STATE PARK AND PEOPLE UNLEASH THEIR KIDS ON THE LOCAL WILDLIFE, WITHOUT TEACHING THEM RESPECT. NO, IT IS NOT OK TO LEAVE ALL THE FROGS YOU CAUGHT IN A CONTAINER OVER NIGHT, EVEN IF YOU PUT IN BREATHE HOLES. NO, IT IS NOT OK TO PUT THAT NEWT YOU FOUND ON A SWING AND GIVE IT "RIDES". AND NO, IT IS NOT OK TO USE IT AS A BASEBALL EITHER. GRRRRRR

Hi to all,
I just would like to clear some points.
I didn't create that cabin (spanish company) but the concept which is a dog washing place where pet’s owner can wash them easily with professional facilities without dirtying their bathroom.
The automatic cabin takes the concept of a water jets shower obviously softer than for humans (nothing is turning inside the washing space for people which were thinking this). Shampoo is similar of a shampoo for baby adapted to dogs and cats (doesn't hurt eyes and hears).
In case of dog's panic, owners can push the stop button or open the door. Like that cycle is stopping and restart when you close the door or release stop button. After washing something like 50 dogs in 7 opening weeks, I’ve never see problems with dogs. Even if I get the case, owners can finish to wash or dry their pet themselves with the manual washing cabin.
Have you ever wash a dog which doesn’t want to be wash…it’s almost impossible. The advantage of this kind of cabin comparing the manual one is because you don’t have human intervention, the dog quiet by himself. I saw a lot of dogs very cool inside the cabin and that was surprising the owner because they said to me that it was a pain to wash them by hand.
Please have a look of the video of my site: http://www.dogomatic.fr/video.htm
I thank you for my right of reply

Terri, you are a tool... calm down. It's a dog wash, we use showers without feeling abused so whats big deal. I think this is still a dumb idea... I mean 47$ to wash your dog? just a regular bath isn't that time consuming or difficult to make me want to pay that much for this.

I can see this causing some serious health issues- what if the dog has difficulty breathing in the incredibly humid "cabin"? And who is going to pay for the vet bills when water gets into the dog's ears and causes an ear infection when they don't dry out? Or the panic attack when a sound sensitive dog who doesn't like water gets stuff in there and has a heart attack? I can't believe anyone would think this is a good idea.

People are nuts, just wash your pet in a tub.

This is beyond stupid. If your dog is that much trouble, get a stuffed animal instead. At least you'll be able to toss it into a regular washing machine and not have to pay $47 for the pleasure.
