I wiped the screen of dust about 17 days after I bought it. Sure enough, I got a stuck pixel. I called Gateway to return the monitor as it is obviously defective. They told me that this is considered normal and tough luck. So, I tried all of these tricks and none of them worked. Ever since then, every couple of months, whenever I wipe the screen I get another stuck pixel! Most of the time they go away on their own, but I still have that original annoying red dot. So, now my monitor is covered with dust because I am too afraid to clean it. My advice to everybody is to understand the standard on dead pixels (ISO 13406-2) before spending too much money on a LCD. Manufacturers do not guarantee their work with LCDs!
