Our Daily Deal: Viliv S5 UMPC With Free Accessories (First 400 Buyers)

You usually have to pay for the privilege of owning a sought-after new gadget within a month of its release, but the Viliv S5 UMPC (Ultra-Mobile PC) -- a white-hot handheld Windows XP computer that sold out in less than a day when it debuted in Korea last month -- is being offered for pre-sale at Dynamism.com for just $599, starting at 1pm today.

The real deal is this, though: If you're one of the first 400 buyers, you'll get a free second battery, leather case, and car kit thrown in.

Now, what exactly is cool about this early-adopter's doodad-du-jour? Well, it features an Intel Atom 1.33 GHz CPU (just like netbooks) that runs XP and a 4.8-inch high-res screen (for watching movies, pictures, etc). There's no actual keyboard, but the onscreen one features haptic feedback (so it feels like you're actually hitting keys). The battery lasts six hours and the device wakes up from standby after just five seconds. According to Engadget, which featured some hands-on video earlier this year, the S5 offers "some of the best touchscreen interaction we've seen on devices like this....there's a lot of quality going on here."

This thing sold out in two hours when Dynamism offered it a couple of weeks ago, but they have twice as many available starting at 1pm today.

If you've got an gadget-loving Dad who travels a lot (or just wants to be the coolest guy on the block), then the S5 could make a fine Father's Day gift.
