The Daily Engadget: New Robot Hall of Fame Members, Dalí With Old Gadgets

Our friends over at Engadget obsessively cover everything new in gadgets and consumer electronics, which is why we compile this daily roundup of their top stuff (or, at least, what we think is tops). For more details on any of these stories, click on the Engadget links in each story below.

Robot Hall of Fame Gets New Members
Carnegie Mellon University's Robot Hall of Fame has five new members, including iRobot's Roomba vacuum cleaning 'bot and the prostate surgery-performing Da Vinci system. New Senate Bill to Keep You Off the Digital TV 'Cliff'
Just in case you are in the 5-percent of American households that are not ready for the analog-to-digital shift in television broadcasting on June 12th, the Senate has just introduced the DTV Cliff Effect Assistance Act, which will allocate $125 million through 2012 to pay for digital repeaters and translators to keep your boob tube pumping if you're in an area unable to receive the new digital signal.

SOBEaR: The Robot Bartender
Ever since seeing R2-D2 laden with drinks on Jabba's sail barge, we've wanted our own robot bartender. Now our dreams can come true thanks to an ardent modder, who created SOBEaR. The electronic panda bear senses your blood-alcohol-content and adjusts the level of alcohol it puts in your drink, so you can stay smooth at parties and keep from going over the edge -- that is until you grab the vodka bottle out of its hand and start mixing your own delectable tipples.
