Virginia Tech's Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory has designed and built an advanced robotic hand uses compressed air to operate. This allows the hand to vary its grip between heavy, solid objects and light, delicate things like eggs.

New Cute Cleaning Bot
Panasonic debuted a new robot cleaner at the Tokyo Fiber Senseware Expo, and it inches around the floor detecting dirt and picking up dust with its nanofiber polyester fabric covering. It's part cute, part unnerving. Check out the video of the little guy in action, here.
