Watching Twitter tonight has taught me one thing, Phillies fans are a bunch of whiny dicks. But it's ok, every tank needs a bottom feeder.

I just spent nearly $400 at Radio Shack and they sold me a cell phone with a low battery, knowing I was on my way out of town and depending on the new cell phone to last, at least, to my destinaton (4 hours later). . . Also, the clerk just handed me the things I bought in a package, and expected a 75 year old to know how to make them work. . . Well, I did make the GPS work, and very well, once he took the tags off it, and the cell phone, too. . . They should be trained to do this automatically for those of us who need the technology, but can't see the teensy print that gives directions on the packages. . . I would suggest that all electronic manufacturers make a supreme effort to make the print on the packages in which these items are packed, READABLE TO AGING, AND/OR DAMAGED EYES. They may have to make the package a bit larger, but , usually, I can't think that could be a very big problem. . .and, after all, a sale is a sale, especially in these downturn times. . .

Zella, The phones come w/ a slight charge. So YOU can make sure they work.. did you bother to read the instructions on the new phone.. before you jonted out of town.. ? NO. So.... whose to blame ?
It's customers like you that deserve a tale whippin' !
lol
How dare you put your stupidity on someone elses shoulders!
Were you not smart enough to plug the new phone into the cig lighter and charge it while driving ? Duh !
If you buy a cell phone to use outside of your home.. then you should have been smart enough to buy a car adapter to charge it with while driving. If you had one, then plug it in and use it!
Some people shouldn't be able to be out on the roads with out an intelligent life source with them!

Whaaa Whaaa, good gawd, everyone wants special consideration for each and every condition you may have. Everyone wants you to hold their hand and do everything for them. It's like when they cry about a store policy they don't like, if a store posted every policy they had they might have enough room to put out a few items. Or the people who complain about the motorized carts when the store has 14 of them but they are all in use on a busy day. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more people are just nasty anymore, I don't condon it but understand it.

Zella, you read this too, but it really goes to the rude person named Lynn that replied to you. You can make a point without being as rude as you were. Did you notice that she said she is 75? I think it is great that she is even trying to use all of the new fangled technology out there today! Zella, you go girl!!! And as far as having a life source with her when she goes out? Maybe you should follow your own advice. Try not to be so rude next time, and people may think that you are an intelligent, articulate, interesting person who has something to say that is worth reading.

I know what you mean Zella - people with poor eyesight can't read the tiny print on the instructions - plus for us older folks who "didn't grow up with electronic gadgets", we often don't know how to work them.
And to you, Lynn, I can tell you're a youngster who as a small child learned how to use computers, IPOD's, cell phones, etc., PLUS I can tell that you have good eyesight so you can read that tiny print.
IF you're lucky, Lynn, someday you'll live long enough to start having your eyesight go bad - and then you'll have a hard time "reading that fine print too".

Zella, . . I'm blind in one eye at 65 but I know enough to understand that if they make all the boxes larger to accomodate those of us with poor eyesight that it will drive the price of everything way up. . . . Why ? . . Freight costs for one thing. . . If you're taking up more space in a truck, aircraft or anything else yet only shipping the same number of products as before, naturally, the cost goes up for shipping. . . Also, a big part of the cost of EVERYTHING is in the packaging. . . Bigger packages = bigger prices ! . . . I got myself a good magnifying glass with a handle.
Well, . . Class is over for today. . . Hope you learned something. . . Sincerely. . . . Tommy

@ Zella & rick: We all appreciate the fact that you're older and have trouble seeing, reading, understanding technology and thinking for yourselves, but Radio Shack doesn't offer the services you're looking for. No one really does, and no one (including Radio Shack) claims to do so. Getting uppity about "poor customer service" because they didn't go WELL above and beyond the call of duty is ignorant and asinine at best. You're both old enough to put on your big kid pants and start taking responsibility for your own lives.

Zell you're the prime example of customer that should have his face punched in...
When have you known one rechargeable batter in any tech to be fully charged when you bought it?

I quit the cell phone business because of people like you. Honestly.

If you're 75 and cannot see the directions for the cell phone and its accessories and whatnot, it is hard to imagine that the rest of your day and your life will go too amazingly well either....I've worked with many many older, elderly, younger, teeny, whatever people and the most prevalent feeling is one of complacency and the sense that someone else will hold your hand and deal with your inadequacies....While is reasonable to request and HOPE for some help, it isn't necessarily correct that everyone owes you this, and this is someone's primarily responsibility, that one should ensure that you get to your destination, in touch with the world, well fed, rested, relaxed, properly entertained and regular of bowel....If you or anyone needs some assistance or expects it, then speak up and ask....and if it isn't provided as part of the purchases, then you shouldn't expect it....Life is about learning.....no one assumes that another person doesn't know or is capable....Some do go ABOVE and BEYOND, but that is a Pursuit of the very pinnacle of excellence....One shouldn't chastise someone for doing in average job....They may not have done outstandingly, but they didn't do a bad poor worthless job either, and this unfortunately in the vast, growing, unlearned masses is the prevalent attitude....
