It has 5 buttons. Five. Not three. Ok yeah so you have to change some settings within the OS. Big deal. The scroll ball is a perfect compliment to this OS as it has a lot of stuff that scrolls horizontally and vertically within the same window, and the scroll ball instead of a wheel is awesome. What is going on?

That said, the Mighty Mouse didn't impress me. I honestly haven't used it long enough to adjust to it, but there is definitely a learning curve there because of the ridiculous touch-sensitive button surfaces. It forces you to re-learn how to use a mouse, it wouldn't work correctly for me when I had my two fingers resting on its surface at all times (the way that I've been using mice for the last 15+ years).

chefgon_ign

Comments on Get a Real Mouse, Mac Lovers

Ummm, yeah...

Been using the Mighty Mouse since it came out. All USB mice are Human Interface Device compliant and generally work on all systems.

Having said that, I use a Mac several hours a day, and came to detest the Might Mouse. After a couple months, it started making loud creaking noises when I clicked. The right click was very touchy and often sent a left click instead. The side button (it's on both sides, but actually one button) requires a bizarre squeeze and frequently triggered when I did not squeeze. The lack of physically separate right and left buttons caused unreliable clicking and a strange sensation as the whole mouse clicks rather than just a button. The scroll ball is truly nice, but it's the only part of the Might Mouse that is not junk. Just my opinion. I am much happier with a Microsoft mouse on my Mac (ironic, huh?). I may try a Logitech MX Revolution--people say great things about them.

emcnally

Comments on Get a Real Mouse, Mac Lovers

Am I the only one who has problems using a perfectly good Microsoft mouse with a Mac? My Apple mouse is great and was built for the mac, and by the way you can right click and do everything you can do on a Microsoft mouse.
Here's some advice buy a Mac and see why so many other Windows users are finding out on what they have been missing out on, an operating system that works and is logical.
