Reasons to Quit Facebook

We don't know about you, but our notifications page tends to always be full of events that we don't really want to attend. We do understand that the point of an invitation is to leave it up to the invitee to decide if they want to go or not. But we start to get frustrated after someone we barely know invites us to their "Xtreme 21st Birthday!" that is taking place in a city on the other side of the country. If you are going to plan an event, do us all a favor and think a little bit before you send it out to everyone on your list.

I left facebook because it is a pale pitiful reflection of life, as is twitter and myspace and blogs and all that keeps you in front of your pc instead of in front of PEOPLE

I'm 56, and my kids are on Facebook, but I'm not - and I'm embarrased for my friends who are. Find something more meaningful to do all day! I have one friend who takes every quiz out there (what color are you? what car are you? what insect are you? how blonde are you?) and posts it. Who cares? If you have that much free time, start volunteering somewhere and use your time to help someone who needs it. I think Facebook is definitely for the junior high set - my kids are in their mid-to-late-20s and got on in the past few years, but only access it once a week or so, and their interest in waning. 25 Things Noone Knows About Me? Give me a break.

Here's the thing: Facebook is not new, it's been around for about 5 years. All the people who are just finding out about it are getting the super new version, not the version that it started out as which was infinitely better because it was only for college students. Now that everyone and their mother can join it's become a bit creepy.

Facebook to me is a way more sophisticated and upscale and more adult than MySpace....and I enjoy it an am not going anywhere.....

I mean really it has been a fun way for me to interact with people I went to school with 15 and 20 years ago...to learn about my high school reunion, etc... and to just shoot the breeze and just connect....
What in the world is soooo wrong with that??

i love facebook. all my friends use it and i love to keep in touch with old friends, classmates and family. what is the big deal about facebook anyways? as long as you use the privacy settings, then you are fine.
