Lol. Thank you for this! I agree with just about everything you've said. And I got an extra laugh out of these people who actually took time to DEFEND Facebook in the comments. They act like you personally insulted them. Too funny.
What you guys are missing is this: Facebook actually used to be a fun, useful communication tool, a way to share your life in some way with people you may or may not talk to or see all the time. However, it's now so clogged up with the rest of this garbage that it's almost no fun at all. I don't need to see every aspect of everything everyone else is doing. And if you want to just remove their notifications regarding their apps, you can't. It removes the person from your news feed entirely. I want to see what my sister who lives over an hour away is doing. I just don't want or need to see EVERYTHING. I don't need over 99 requests every day from apps I don't want to use, events I will not go to and so on. Sure you can block them, but you have to weed through them all to do it and that is a pain in the ass.
It would be much easier if people thought it through, as the writer of this article suggests, and just refrain from sending them to everybody. Especially if I've ignored the first 50 you sent. That should be a clue not to send more.
