WRITING IN ALL CAPS
Leaving the caps lock engaged in e-mails or chats is like constantly shouting in normal conversation; it makes you seem angry or in need of attention. It's difficult to communicate inflection and tone in online communication, so use normal capitalization and punctuation to get your point across. If not, people won't take you seriously.

I LIVE MY LIFE JUGGLING SEVERAL LANGUAGES. WHEN I ANSWER EMAILS I DON’T HAVE TIME TO WORRY ABOUT ACCENTS, OR WHERE TO FIND THEM ON DIFFERENT LANGUAGE KEYBOARDS. UPPERCASE IS NOT SCRAMING; UNDERLINE AND BOLD IS

WELL, IT CERTAINLY LOOKS TO ME AS THE 'LARGE' TYPE TYPIST WINS - HANDS DOWN. AS I'M READING THE PAGE THAT HAS 13 TYPISTS TYPING IN UPPER CAPS AND 3 ARE TYPING IN LOWER CAPS.
ONE PERSON IS TYPING IN BOTH, CAN YOU BEAT THAT??
OBVIOUSLY IT DOES SAY SOMETHING MAY NEED TO CHANGE IN OUR 'CORRECT' CLERICAL TYPING SOCIETY.
AND DICK, YOU'RE A 'DICK HEAD'. YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT YOU'RE TALKIN' ABOUT.

To "Cal". Simple because 13 posts HERE are in all caps does not mean that such is proper etiquette. It simply means 13 people in this specific blog decided to be rude and ignore etiquette, or are clueless about said etiquette. Using your "logic", since every contestant in a pie eating contest would be scarfing down the pies instead of using proper table manners, you would conclude that gluttony and overconsumption of pies MUST be the proper way to always eat. No, it's obvious that most if not all of the people typing in all caps are simply trying to get attention by doing so in an article about such.
Of course, how can we take you seriously "Cal" when you decide to disagree with someone named "Dick" by calling him a "Dick Head"? That right there shows you lack a concept of etiquette.
As for typing in all caps itself goes, I only use single words in all caps to emphesis said words when using boldface, underlining or italics isn't an option. IT IS considered yelling to type in all caps. If one isn't yelling, then the assumptions are either 1) The person is clueless and/or lacks any knowledge about the Internet at all, or 2) The person is inconsiderate and intentionally trying to be obnoxious. I have heard people claim that typing in all caps makes a post easier to read, but this for most isn't the case at all. I know people who are vision impaired, they either pick a large font to read their e-mail or use a magnifier over their monitor to enlarge the image, perhaps both. None that I know personally use or request I use all caps, and some have told me they dislike seeing that since it makes many letters even harder to read.

Lower case rules!!! & for all you dumbo's upper case does express anger as well as shouting. I text and e-mail a lot and seeing letters all upper case is tedious. Also writing LiKe ThIs is NOT cool!!! [you see the effect of NOT when its all upper case...it represents annoyance]

I don't see what the big deal is with using all caps or not using the corrent punctiation, or abreviating your words it is just texting it is not like you are writing something for english class..
