And I thought I wanted to hug Johan last week. I think I'm officially in love.
Listening to Ra, glance at the notes and there's @AliveRecords. Nice cover, Mr. Boissel! @TheGloryFires #magiccityjams http://t.co/uT0M77VJ

learn to use a computer, then buy a ``pc'' then install linux....
mac osx is run with a UNIX background just like linux, so all the things that mac advertises can be done with a free operating system. Fast (my 2 year old laptop boots in 20 seconds), secure, and FULLY customizable

Just bought my first Macbook and I love it. No more PC's for me!
And........with the Applecare warrenty when you call them you get immediate response by someone who speaks ENGLISH! Thats right, Apple does not send you to someplace you have never heard of with a person whose name is every letter in the alphabet and does not speak english.

As usual, Micro$oft distorts the truth when they don't actually lie.
Having used PCs and Macs side-by-side for years, I think I have a right to an informed, logical opinion.
Yes, the purchase price of a Mac is more. That could be because the quality is far better. With my 2.66 GHz iMac, even the keyboard is the best I have ever seen. One solid piece of aluminum about 1/4" thick with keys that feel better than any PC KB ever.
Also, the cost of the software is a fraction of that for a PC. My video editor, Final Cut Express, can be purchased for about $150. An equivalent program that I used on a PC is Sony Vegas. At the time, it was $700. Other software when it isn't free, is similarly cheaper. When you consider this and the fact that the only hardware failures of any kind I have ever had on a Mac were those that were my own fault, the cost of owning one is far cheaper than any PC.
Add in the lack of frustration over OS and other software failures and the fact that the Mac DOES run PC games better and faster than the PC without a dual-boot system or using a Windows emulator, there is no real choice. Just the difference between ignorance and prejudice and being an informed user.

Just to show you how uniformed so many people are: All computers work by manipulating combinations of 1s and 0s. If a system is good at doing that, it will be good at doing any of it provided it has decent software.
That's just one more reason why Macs work better than PCs. Remember PC users, almost everything you like about Windows appeared on the Mac first, often years in advance. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery and MS has been imitating Apple form the very first release of Windows.
To be fair, Apple copied their OS idea from the Sun Palo Alto Research Center (SPARC) and maybe they got it from someone else. It isn't clear. None of that changes the facts. A Macintosh has always been superior to a PC and is likely to remain so. Anyone that uses a PC when they could have a Mac simply doesn't know much about computers.
