Too Busy to Pray? This New Site Has You Covered, for a Fee

Just because the whole dot-com bubble burst doesn't mean that there aren't new, apparently useless online businesses popping up. The latest is Information Age Prayer, a subscription service with text-to-speech capabilities that lets you pray by proxy using a computer.
The premise of the site is that many people are too busy to pray these days, so, for a few bucks, they'll take care of it for you. You choose your religion and then pick a prayer to have the computer say it for you. For example, if you're Catholic, you might select daily readings of Our Father for $3.95 a month, or 10 Hail Marys for 70 cents, or, if you're really serious, a month of full rosaries for $49.95. Apparently, 10-percent of the money goes to unnamed charities.
No matter where you stand on religion and its relationship with technology, this must strike you as a bit odd. After all, we don't know that these people are actually having the computers say the prayers. Also, as the site's FAQ says, the final results are up to your deity, which we read as "buyer beware." Yeah, just like everything else in religion, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
