AIG Logo Makes it Into New Wii Soccer Game

According to MTV's Multiplayer blog, in the introductory scene of 'Pro Evolution Soccer 2009,' those three infamous letters appear on the blue jerseys of the Manchester United, the British powerhouse that the corporation has sponsored of late. While this might get some U.S. players' hackles up, we can't really blame Konami. Just last week, the bailed-out corporation (which recently paid out $165 million in employee bonuses) shelled out an additional $28 million in order to sponsor the Manchester United through the 2010 season.
Surely, none of this is Konami's fault. However, we wouldn't be too surprised if some irate Wii-sters wound up putting their controllers through their TVs. After all, nobody asked us taxpayers if we wanted $28 million of our money going to a British soccer team. [From: Multiplayer]

First of all, what they are doing by having their brand on the jersey of one of the most watched and most popular football clubs in the world is called ADVERTISEMENT. As for blaming Konami for this, it's idiotic to do so. LOL at "the memo." They probably got "the memo" that said that their game sells better in other markets and is widely panned by the USA in favor of other sports games. EA Sports FIFA 2009 also has the 2008-2009 Manchester United Kit because having the likeness of the clubs' players/stadiums/jerseys sell more games!!!!! In the future, don't post any "articles" if you don't know what you're talking about.

"In the future, don't post any "articles" if you don't know what you're talking about."
If the article's author knew what they were talking about, they wouldn't say "the Manchester United". The name of the club is "Manchester United", plain and simple. Saying "the Manchester United" makes them sound as ignorant as if somebody posted "Derek Jeter plays for Yankees".

Haha, so true Carl, I didn't even catch that...

Furthermore, I followed the link at the end of the "article" and you got the "story" from an MTV board of all places! MTV!!!!! The person who posted it originally starts the stupid fest by admitting they didn't know squat about soccer or the PES line of games. OMG... resign, resign now please... turn in your badge and gun and hope you get a gold watch and a nifty Switched calendar in return.
