Cables, the Scourge of Modern Life

Wires.
They surround us, they engulf us, they entangle us. Even though we push them underneath tables and behind desks, they make our lives feel as if they are in disarray. Someday, perhaps even someday soon, they will be a thing of the past; for now, though, they are the scourge of our digital society.
Which is why Christoph Niemann's latest series of illustrations for the New York Times really hits home: His hilarious observations truly capture the frustrations of the times. "If my 24-inch computer screen wasn't connected to the wall with a power cable, it would disappear among the sofa pillows one day," he says. "If I get a new device, I just stuff any new cables right into the swamp of existing ones. And if I need to remove a cable, I optimistically pull on it, like a madman."
Don't even pretend you don't do the same thing. Seriously people, wireless power can't come soon enough. [From: The New York Times]

Oh yeah. My house is a mess of just wires and wires everywhere, lol. From the vcr to the tv to the dvd to the computer and the usb wires for the external mouse charger, the external monitor, the external hd, for 3 laptops, egads. And yes, when I do need to remove a cord, it is much easier to pull on it from the far end than try and play follow the cord with your eyes until you see which outlet its plugged into. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, all the multiple outlet ext. cords...wires are taking over my home. :)
