Get your facts straight...<br><br>MacWorld got comments from an Apple spokesman yesterday telling that this chip is a controller chip, not an authenticator chip...  it allows the new remote (on the headphones) to do more than just pause and play...  it now can do FF, REW, SKIP, etc. ...<br><br>Apple has NO DESIRE to "lock down" headphones...  they will happily authorize "Made for iPod" models, and allow those bragging rights on packaging...  but...  fear not...
