I'm, like, okay with being a little crazy.
The time, energy, words, weight lost, nails bitten, scabs picked and nights I've struggled thru for this are easy to judge from afar, right?

First... Get your facts straight...
MacWorld got comments from an Apple spokesman yesterday telling that this chip is a controller chip, not an authenticator chip... it allows the new remote (on the headphones) to do more than just pause and play... it now can do FF, REW, SKIP, etc. ...
Apple has NO DESIRE to "lock down" headphones... they will happily authorize "Made for iPod" models, and allow those bragging rights on packaging... but... fear not... "cheap headphone adapters or inexpensive replacement headphones for the littlest iPod" will be available soon...
Nice headline NILAY PATEL... too bad you didn't check your facts.
