"Both the Wired crew and Geekdad admit to using "frak" instead of actually cursing, but they attribute the origin to 'Battlestar Galactica.' Sure the original version used "frack" but not with the same spelling or frequency, and every true geek remembers playing the game 'Frak!' on their Commodore 64 (ownership of which immediately classifies one as a geek of the highest order)."
Oh no! They took out the C, which makes it a completely new word. Seriously?
BG came out 6 years before Frak! for the C64, so even if it wasn't used as much as it is in the new series, it still predates the video game usage by a long shot. And if we're going to be crediting things based on when they were popularly used, then the video game shouldn't count anyway, since the C64 was as popular as the Ford Pinto.
