Best of the Web This Week

Welcome to Urlesque's weekly wrap up format, which we'll be bringing you every weekend here on Switched. Our friends over at Urlesque try to present as many of the best bits from the Web as they can, but ultimately there are lots of goodies that don't make it onto the site. Per usual, check out this week's hottest posts from Urlesque below... then make the jump (new!) for more things that the Web enjoyed this week, courtesy of some of the best viral collectors on the 'Net.

  • This portly Israeli intern recreates six YouTube classics in two minutes, making us laugh and laugh -- we're totally doing this next Purim!
  • Does the internet love ukuleles? Does a bear sh*t in the woods?
  • Been thinking that YouTube rap remixes have gotten a bit out of control? We gathered the finest Thomas the Tank Engine theme remixes just to push you over the edge.

Videos blowing up the internet this week. Take one and pass it on.

  • ThruYou - Musician Kutiman skillfully mashes up homemade online performances from YouTube to create virtual collaborations.
  • Oops! She Did It Again! - Using Britney's own song to describe her mistakes never gets old, does it? This week, the singer forgot to turn her mic off after a dance number and the audience accidentally heard her dirty complaint about a wardrobe malfunction...
  • Saturday Morning Watchmen - The 'Watchmen' movie came out earlier this week and the theaters were flooded with comic book guys from across the nation. The graphic novel re-imagined as a Saturday morning cartoon was also flooded with comic book guys and thus, went viral!
