Sheriff Sues Craigslist Over Sex Ads

in the words of the late George Carlin.... selling is legal, fucking is legal.... so why isnt selling fucking legal?? makes no sense this country is run by the few that bitch the most and the media that fuels these people who have nothing better to do bet this sheriff isnt at all affected by this happening on craigslist he should be stripped of his badge and thrown in jail for wasting taxpayers money

The article states that "Tom Dart, Sheriff of Cook County, IL, whom we're guessing has never been to Vegas, filed the lawsuit yesterday, calling Craigslist "the largest source of prostitution in America" in hopes that a federal judge will force the site to eliminate the Erotic Services section. Dart claims that, while Craigslist does offer a disclaimer that prohibits the solicitation of prostitution, the site does not adequately prevent people from posting the ads and that they actively ignore the listings."


How can the sheriff sue for that? What harm did it bring to him? I don't understand! Can I sue them, too? I want some of that money he is going to win!

If there was JUSTICE, the judge would not only throw out this case, but he would charge the sheriff CRIMINALLY for filing a nuisance frivolous lawsuit in the first place. Such advertising is in every newspaper and phone book in the nation. Puritanical Nazi a-hole.

Tom Dart should worry about the murders and gang activity that takes place within Cook County. Better yet, get concerned about all the crooked politicians rather than girls who sell themselves. The murderers, gang bangers, drug dealers and politicians on the take represent a far greater threat to the safety and security of Cook County residents than prostitutes on the internet. The fact that Dart is spending scare resources on a civil lawsuit against activities that are minor crimes is indicative that he has given up fighting serious criminal activity

It's clear that it's just another attempt by a lame ass constabulary posturing to get votes in his county.

If he wanted to get folks on prostitution charges all he'd have to do is get one of those fake folks who pretend to be prostitutes on line.

i live in chicago and am so very proud that our county's sheriff is spending time and resources on this...seeing as we're the murder capitol of the country, have a crumbling infrastructure, a completely corrupt mayor & a police chief in contempt of federal court. while we have the highest sales tax in the country, services are getting cut back regularly while hizzoner spends countless resources on bringing the olympics here in '16 against most residents' wishes. idiots.
