15 Phishing Scams to Watch Out For

"Vishing"
Constantly evolving, phishing scammers continuously seek new methods of duping people into divulging their personal information. Almost a throwback to the flim-flams of old, 'vishing,' as its been dubbed by some folks, now takes the phenomenon from your computer to your cell phone. Manipulating caller ID instead of links and Web pages, con men call, purporting to be representatives of a bank or credit card company. They then ask the target to call another number where he or she will need to enter personal information. The scam can also incorporate e-mail and text-messages, as victims sometimes receive a similar message containing a phone number they'll need to call in order to enter account information. How to prevent this? Just be sure to call the number on your bank's official Web site, and you'll be fine.
