Web Site Finds Terry Bull and Other Unfortunate Baby Names

We've seen baby names derived from text-message speak before (see below), and now the people behind thebabywebsite.com have gone through phone records in the UK and the States to find other tragic names as a cautionary tale for moms and dads. "When the parents of some of those people mentioned named their children, many probably didn't even realize the implications at the time" said a spokesman for the site. "What may be quirky and fun for a toddler might be regretted terribly when that person becomes older."

Other names on the list included Barb Dwyer, Ray Gunn, Anna Sasin, Doug Hole, dentist Les Plack, and a retired RAF airman named Stan Still. "My commanding officer used to shout 'Stan Still, get a move on' and roll about laughing," Still says. "It got hugely boring after a while." To all you parents out there, remember this before you end up naming your daughter something like Helen Back.

i dont know what happen to normal names for kids, me i named my daughter rebecca renee and that cant be thought as something else. think before you name a kid jakaway ( jack a way) or wyckolf (wack off) these were names of former classmates and they were always picked on. Parents if you dont want your children put them out for adoption dont punish them with such creul names.

One of my son's high school teachers was named Mr. Bator (pronounced with a long "o"), but of course everyone called him MasterBater. They were high school kids - can you blame 'em?

This is true, but I had a classmate in my college and his name was "Friday". I think he was born on Friday :)
And there was this other person who used to work at my Dad's office and his name was Strongman and he did not match his name at all.

When you work in a doctor's office, you tend to read everything Last Name, First Name. One of our patients..... Hill, Billy
(and I checked his insurance card, his first name really is Billy).

I work at a library at a university, and I've seen a lot of strange names come through the computer system...Roseanne (Rosie) Cheeks was one, which is pretty unfortunate (though there are a few things that could be worse with that last name). There is also more than one BOY named Precious - bad enough for a girl, but I can just imagine what they had to go through growing up. Princess is my favorite though...a girl that comes frequently into the library.

We named our daughter Shelby Mustang, I liked "Shelby" and my husband is a Mustang fan, but yes it ended up after the car. We were told by our families that she was going to hate us when she got older and would change her name. Turns out she LOVES the name and everyone in her school thinks her name is awesome!!

My husband's new district manager is BJ Johnson, real name is William Robert Johnson. Some call him Willie Johnson, Willie Bob, but he goes by BJ Johnson. I couldn't help but laugh when he told me his managers name. A customer of mine, his name is Dick Sapp and my grandfathers initials are PIS.
