Total Male Nudity on New 'Grand Theft Auto IV' Episode

Rockstar Games is back with a new episode for 'Grand Theft Auto IV' and boy, does it bring the heat (and by "heat," we mean nudity).
'The Lost and Damned' is the first downloadable extension of 'GTA IV' created exclusively for Xbox 360, and it has boldly chosen to go where few (if any) mainstream video games have gone before. Where has it boldly gone, you ask? Why, to male full-frontal town, of course!
The add-on episode includes an awkward conversation between protagonist Johnny Klebitz and a shady, very naked politician named Mr. Stubbs. They talk while Mr. Stubbs is receiving a massage, and then -- bam! -- Mr. Stubbs is up and walking around completely in the buff. The final seconds of the clip we saw consisted of Mr. Stubbs, a "member," and a mirror. Well played, Rockstar Games!

With all of the vices present in these games, it's hilarious that a few seconds of male nudity might case an uproar. It will, though, and Rockstar will be laughing all the way to the bank (after they stop by the peep show). Perverts!

Are These Games Too Sexy?
While recent game titles have attracted media attention for nudity and sexual situations, risque role-playing games have existed since PC gaming first began. Early games, such as 'Sex Games' for the Commodore 64, demanded specific commands, such as "remove pants," and required specific sequential actions to achieve one's nefarious goals. Currently, a plethora of games with bawdy scenes have invaded, or graced, the gaming world and vary in degrees of lewdness. Here are a few significant titles with prevalent or graphic bawdiness:
'God of War I & II:'
Press the right buttons, and gently twirl the thumbstick, to see the climax of mini-games in both God of War I and II for PS2 and PSP
'Grand Theft Auto III (consoles)'
The infamous "don't come a knockin'" prostitute scenes created a stir when GTA 3 was originally released for PS2.
'Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude; Box Office or Bust' (for consoles):
These most recent incarnations continue to follow the exploits of love lorn Larry in versions for both PC and next gen consoles
'Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals' (for PC)
Released in 1989 for PCs, this third installment of the groundbreaking franchise of risque role playing preceded GTA 4 by 20 years when the title character shows the full Larry in an infamous shower scene
'Mass Effect:'
The backlash from FoxNews greatly exaggerated the tame innuendo and implied relations between the two sapphic lovers in Xbox's Mass Effect.
'Playboy: The Mansion' (consoles):
Disappointingly demure, perhaps the highlight of this sojourn to the mansion is playing photographer in this release for PC, PS2 and Xbox
'Rapelay:'
Amazon removed listings for this disturbing, yet readily available in Japan, DVD-ROM in which the main character stalks and, to put it mildly, torments young girls.
'The Sims;' nude patch:
Denisons of young gamers were disappointed when learning that unblurred nudity in this game for PCs, consoles, and handhelds required downloading a censor patch
'Soul Calibur' (consoles):
The character Taki from the Soul Calibur franchise continues to titillate thousands of pubescent gamers in versions for every console.

The last I heard, looking at someone's hoo-hoo isn't going to turn a child into a criminal or cause his/her permanent teeth to come in crooked. I'd much rather have my kids see somebody buck nekkid than have them see that same person get shived or strangled or shot or...well, I hope you get the idea. We all came into this world bare assed, folks. Grow a pair and grow UP! Violence in video games is FAR more dangerous than the natural state of nudity.

There's video games with female nudity and no one really complains about that, so if people are wanting to get rid of male nudes then get rid of female nudes too.

It's about time we saw some male frontal nudity. I've see far too many boobs, and besides males are really great looking. For those who disapprove, well just get over it.

you know, i'm somebody who fights for the right to make a choice, and helps to protect others rights. In that i just wish people would say their opinion and not ridicule others opinions. I agree with some that nudity is not always appropriate in the way games tend to use it. I also admit i am human and as a male have no problem seeing nudity. I would be uncomfortable seeing a male naked but at the same time that is called an artists expression of art. By the way, game graphic designers are artists for people who don't know that most of them have to 1st draw their characters and surroundings outright before putting them in a video game. Then of course comes the part people tend to hate to hear. Just like with a movie, if you are not of the age group to buy then parents make a choice, don't buy it for them if your afraid of them seeing what they will eventually see whether you like it or not. Censorship is good when taken to a reasonable level. It is bad when you think censoring everything that could influence a child's development and keep it away. Funny thing is some 7 year olds may be old enough to hear about the birds and bees, but then some 18 year olds still to that day are not. Overall, make a choice, live with it, and hope to have no regrets, whether it be a freaking video game or a small/major choice in life.

Rearing your children is all about balance. My mother didn't prohibit video games when we were growing up...but she did, in fact, encourage us as in what types of games to choose and not to spend all day in front of the t.v. or the computer. We played games like Jeopardy, car and bike racing games, and my personal favorite...Tetris. :) All were educational, in a GOOD way. But we also read books and played...outside...with our friends. I still love books and I prefer board games to video games. As for being outside? I would live there if I could. It's not about video games or no video games...it's about balance of life.
As to the human form being beautiful...some things are beautiful, but everything is taken into the imagination. People who excuse just any type of nudity strike me as being too worried about their carnal pleasures being taken away than really concerned about proper boundaries for childhood development. There's a time and a place...and a right use...for everything. Exercising discipline is harder and few are willing to do it.

It's about time. Movies have always shows breasts and female nudity but when it came to guys it was taboo. I never understood it unless it's because they are insecure about size. But I'm all for it. It'd be nice to play a video game and see a cute, semi/nude guy opposed to half naked chicks sucking a lollipop

I say BRAVO for nude males! I am an adult female and no offense guys, sick to death of seeing nude women everywhere. I don't enjoy viewing the female body and find the male body to be totally rocking (as long as it's not a slobbermonster). It's nice to see something for the ladies which by the way is a market waiting to burst at the seams. Men are not the only ones who like to look at pretty nude bodies of the opposite sex. It is a video game, you have a choice to buy or pass and parents have an obligation to monitor what thier children view and participate in for many reasons. If the parents fail to do thier job then don't blame the kids or video business. Take responsibility and your kids will one day do the same. Rock On naked men....woohoo. PS...I don't mean naked doing nasty things, porno involves so much more than a naked body and if someone wants to argue that point then get yourself a chair and a mirror cause your going to be arguing a losing battle.
