Total Male Nudity on New 'Grand Theft Auto IV' Episode

Rockstar Games is back with a new episode for 'Grand Theft Auto IV' and boy, does it bring the heat (and by "heat," we mean nudity).
'The Lost and Damned' is the first downloadable extension of 'GTA IV' created exclusively for Xbox 360, and it has boldly chosen to go where few (if any) mainstream video games have gone before. Where has it boldly gone, you ask? Why, to male full-frontal town, of course!
The add-on episode includes an awkward conversation between protagonist Johnny Klebitz and a shady, very naked politician named Mr. Stubbs. They talk while Mr. Stubbs is receiving a massage, and then -- bam! -- Mr. Stubbs is up and walking around completely in the buff. The final seconds of the clip we saw consisted of Mr. Stubbs, a "member," and a mirror. Well played, Rockstar Games!

| I'm not sure. |
With all of the vices present in these games, it's hilarious that a few seconds of male nudity might case an uproar. It will, though, and Rockstar will be laughing all the way to the bank (after they stop by the peep show). Perverts!
(Check out our gallery below of other video games that pushed the nudity/sex envelope in recent years.)
Are These Games Too Sexy?
While recent game titles have attracted media attention for nudity and sexual situations, risque role-playing games have existed since PC gaming first began. Early games, such as 'Sex Games' for the Commodore 64, demanded specific commands, such as "remove pants," and required specific sequential actions to achieve one's nefarious goals. Currently, a plethora of games with bawdy scenes have invaded, or graced, the gaming world and vary in degrees of lewdness. Here are a few significant titles with prevalent or graphic bawdiness:
'God of War I & II:'
Press the right buttons, and gently twirl the thumbstick, to see the climax of mini-games in both God of War I and II for PS2 and PSP
'Grand Theft Auto III (consoles)'
The infamous "don't come a knockin'" prostitute scenes created a stir when GTA 3 was originally released for PS2.
'Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude; Box Office or Bust' (for consoles):
These most recent incarnations continue to follow the exploits of love lorn Larry in versions for both PC and next gen consoles
'Leisure Suit Larry 3: Passionate in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals' (for PC)
Released in 1989 for PCs, this third installment of the groundbreaking franchise of risque role playing preceded GTA 4 by 20 years when the title character shows the full Larry in an infamous shower scene
'Mass Effect:'
The backlash from FoxNews greatly exaggerated the tame innuendo and implied relations between the two sapphic lovers in Xbox's Mass Effect.
'Playboy: The Mansion' (consoles):
Disappointingly demure, perhaps the highlight of this sojourn to the mansion is playing photographer in this release for PC, PS2 and Xbox
'Rapelay:'
Amazon removed listings for this disturbing, yet readily available in Japan, DVD-ROM in which the main character stalks and, to put it mildly, torments young girls.
'The Sims;' nude patch:
Denisons of young gamers were disappointed when learning that unblurred nudity in this game for PCs, consoles, and handhelds required downloading a censor patch
'Soul Calibur' (consoles):
The character Taki from the Soul Calibur franchise continues to titillate thousands of pubescent gamers in versions for every console.

WITH GAMES LIKE GTA AND "MUSIC" LIKE "GANGSTA RAP" THE MEDIA GLAMORIZES THE "THUG LIFE" , THEN IS ASTONISHED WHEN DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS HAPPEN
TigreFeb 21st 2009 2:39AM
Oh shut up! Gangs and drive-by shootings was going on way before video games existed you idiot.
As far as nudity goes in a video game I don't think it's a big deal. As long as it goes with the story and is not just thrown in to get guys to buy it like they do with movies then it's just lame and a money grubbing move.

Your comments are all too indicative of a very young, idiotic, "anything goes" kid !!! Many of us find this repulsive, unnecessary to the games, and pornographic, at the VERY least. But, FYI, I don't allow my kids to have ANY video games, either for TV or the hand-held ones. There's too much in this life to see and appreciate, without having your head down, concentrating on a stupid video game.Guess what? They're avid readers and players of board games...with US !!! This trash is why our country (and the world) is going/has gone to hell in a handbasket. Quit letting your kids play these, and then you won't have to worry about the content. Mine know that if I EVER catch them blitzing away their little brains on someone else's, they're grounded for LIFE. (And I mean that). Learn to say "No" to your children. They'll love you more for it.

First off I'm a grown woman so don't try to label me as a kid just because you don't feel the same way I do. I still stand by my statement when it comes to nudity. Theirs nothing wrong with nudity. A nude body is beautiful and that goes for men and women.
Second theirs nothing wrong with video games. Sure you have people taking it too far by playing all day and night but hey if they want to waste their life doing that then it's their choice. As long as their not giving their fellow gamers a bad name (violence towards people) then I'm not going to worry about it. You have your kids reading books and interacting with other kids/ people hey good for them but if you think that once they step out of your house whether their still living there or once they move out that they won't play video games your off your rocker chick.
Oh and third video games is not the reason why the crime rate is high. The reason why it's high is due to lack of discipline and the fact that single parents are so overwhelmed. When your a single parent and you have to do things by yourself it's pretty difficult... especially when that kid(s) has behavioral issues. If a child has both parents involved in their life and they learn that they can't get everything they want and so on then this country will be a bit better.

I'm with you, Tigre. Nudity is the last great taboo--I know for a fact (did a research paper on it) that there's only been 20 or so games which have gotten an Adults-Only rating, and all but a handful of those games got them for containing sex or nudity.
A nude is not, itself, pornographic. It depends on the context.
Oh, by the way. I'm a 22-year-old geology major with a 3.69 GPA, and I'm on the Dean's List, Dean's Honor List, and National Dean's List. I've been playing video games since I was six years old. I've written essays about video games as an art form and as an interactive form of intertainment--wholly different from books and movies in that they require active participation.
To any naysayers, e-mail me or IM me at Scrinnameless@aol.com and I'll be happy to discuss this with you.

I agree with you Tigre. It's not the video games that make the kids start doing stupid things,it's the parents not having the simple time to watch what there kids are doing, and how the act that gets them in trouble. Sure I play video games, hell my mom plays video games as well. And not all games are bad, some actually teach you something(not those stupid educational ones). In today's world some of the smartest people are the ones who play and design video games. How do you think the designers of the video games got to where they are today? By playing video games! If it wasn't for video games our Armed Forces would be pretty much no existent, and basically useless. As time goes on we will rely more and more on computers, and game like devices, and those able to use the will succeed, and those who can't will die off. Some of the best pilots we have in the armed forces started by playing a simple video game, tank operators, also played video games, and practiced on them as well.
As far as nudity goes...don't let your kid play it? Simple as that. They have ratings on the damn games for a reason,if you want to follow the ratings, read the box for say 3 minutes, and you will find out what is on/in it. Or go the restrictive way and just make your child stick with what is supposedly age appropriate.
Sure being able to read is good, and board games are also fun. But who said you can't combine all that with a video game? Doesn't take a moron to figure that out. Shockingly enough in a lot of video games you have to read,so if your hinting at that people who play video games can't read or are "sub standard",then your sadly mistaken.
I don't support gaming all day and all night, however regulation is good, say 4 hours a day, broke up by and hour minimum in between.
It also gives them another option to do when they can't go outside to play because of weather, and they have played every damn board game in the house and are tired of it. Or if they simply DO NOT feel like reading that day. Let kids do what they want to do,but don't give them enough rope to hang themselves is all.

Ann, I'm a 15 year old video game player (particularly of Call of Duty) but I have a 3.75 GPA, made first honors in one of the most elite high schools in Missouri. I read almost every night, I play board games with my parents as well and I play football and tennis. So video games are not the problem.
cheyenneFeb 22nd 2009 11:17PM
I think video games do influence some individuals. Every person is different so Alex and Kevin, good for you for not being negatively influenced. BUT... Let's all think about something for a minute. Do any of you ever catch yourself thinking or acting a certain way because of something you saw/heard? I know you do. Think about when you pick up certain characteristics from your friends. All forms of media have influence on people. It's proven. Why do you think billions of dollars are poured into advertising? PEOPLE ARE EASILY INFLUENCED.

TIGRE...you are a repulsive brainless moron. I pray u have no kids.
seriouslyFeb 23rd 2009 2:55PM
Tigre
You say you are a woman, but can't spell worth a damn. "Second theirs nothing wrong..." it's there's (as in there is). "As long as their not giving..." - this is they're (they are). Maybe you should play less video games and read more
HeidiFeb 23rd 2009 1:36AM
Tigre, I agree with you.
Ann, if a nude man in a video game that is doing NOTHING sexual is pornography, then washing your children was pornographic? Getting dressed is pornographic, getting a shower is pornographic? I guess you are they type that has sex with your clothes on with the lights out and your husband has NEVER seen you naked. To you, BREAST, PENIS, and VAGINA are bad words and you would rather say boobies, pee pee and woo hoos.
There is NOTHING wrong with the naked human form, but when people like you degrade it down to only being an object used for sexual intercourse, then THAT is where the problems lies.
TigreFeb 23rd 2009 4:11AM
Well that's very mature calling me a moron when you bring absolutely nothing to the discussion autimommy. If you plan on insulting someone then at least contribute to the discussion instead of typing away and insulting someone from the comfort of your home.
TigreFeb 23rd 2009 3:44PM
Instead of being a Grammar Nazi Seriously why don't stay on topic. If you have something to say about the subject then say it if not then sthu.

re: Tigre
"A nude body is beautiful and that goes for men and women."
And you're a woman saying this..? HAHA This ho's bi.. Either that or she's trying to cover up the fact that she's a big les.
TigreFeb 28th 2009 4:25AM
I'm not a hoe, bisexual, and I'm not a lesbian I'm just comfortable with my sexuality to appreciate a nude female body. Sorry your not comfortable with yours.
EthanFeb 21st 2009 6:44AM
Women are always disproportionately nude in art, nice to have the odd wang or two.
DBGFeb 21st 2009 5:54PM
And they called him Mr Stubbs, I'm sure quite apap'ro!
Jeffs NutsFeb 24th 2009 3:28PM
Appeared to be about 6 or 7 inches flaccid. Quite humbling. I guess calling him Mr. Stubbs is like nicknaming a fat guy "Tiny"
SteveFeb 21st 2009 6:08PM
Full frontal nudity with males will ONLY be appropriate when they have games that show full frontal nudity with females, and so far NO SUCH GAMES EXIST!!
navygirlctrFeb 23rd 2009 3:48AM
actually there is a game involving full female nudity (if you download something anyway)....Fallout 3
