Phelps' Bong Pops Up On eBay, Leads to Arrests

The bong's asking price was as high as $100,000. One can only imagine the wondrous things the owner would have purchased if he had only been able to cash in on his most prized asset. All those dreams, however, went out the window when police confiscated the bong in relation to their ongoing witch hunt (oops, we mean investigation). The owner of the bong did get something in return for his bold move: He got arrested, along with all the other people who were at the party. Police tracked down the owner and other party attendees after seeing the eBay listing.
Smooth move buddy! Better luck next time. [From: CBS]

Dante Knoxx (musician) - his soul
This past December, UK musician Dante Knoxx failed in his attempt to sell his very soul on eBay. We think that's probably in his music career's best interest, truthfully. Judging from this guy's looks, he doesn't have much soul to spare.
Man Tries to Sell Kidney
The Ur of all banned eBay auctions is the case of an anonymous man who tried to sell his kidney back in 1999. The auction lead to a raging debate about privilege, health and ethics (and a highest bid of $5.7 million) before it was removed from the site.

Woman Selling 4- and 8-year-old kids
In 2007, a 31-year-old mother of two in Benton, Illinois posted an eBay listing, trying to sell her children. While eBay promptly canceled the auction, Benton police found the children to be safe and sound, leaving them in the custody of their still-unidentified mother.
eBay Lottery
Possibly the most ingenuous of all banned eBay auctions was the one held by an anonymous entrepreneur in 2006. Selling 10,000 "tickets," for $2.50 a piece, he promised to give half of the auction's total take to the person with the winning ticket. Apparently no gambling men among them, the folks at eBay took it down.
Mummy
In 2006, 45-year-old Lynn Sterling/a> put a mummified human skeleton up for auction on eBay. The folks at eBay quickly kicked this sale to the curb, though not before a user named Satan's Child placed a bid of $500.
Man Tries to Ditch Cheating Wife on eBay

Man Attempts to eBay Himself
In 2007, Michael Hault -- a student at England's prestigious Cambridge University -- went on eBay to sell himself. That's right. Himself. Brilliantly, in defense of eBay's removal of the auction, a company spokeswoman said, "He needs to be clearer what the buyer could expect."

It seems a lot of drug abusers are worried about overcrowding the jails.
I was just looking at that story about the mobile Chinese execution facility.
Problem, meet solution!

Someone needs to so send the memo to these overzealous local yocals that the Bush Admin. Stormtroopers are gone. Obama has called off the dogs. The DEA is supposed to invest it's time, and money on other than grudges, the Bush family motto.
Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. So stop busting people for pot! The prisons are full of people who have done nothing while the streets are full of criminals. It costs a fortune! And, all to keep a certain demographic under control? Once in a while a bust is made of a high profile individual, like Michael Phelps, Tommy Chong, etc. Meanwhile, meth cooks, crack heads, child molesters, drunken drivers, prescription +alcohol mixers, mainliners... all go free; or at least unnoticed for the time being. WTF!?!

Stupid? Idiot? How about pissing away millions of dollars harassing people who are smoking a harmless weed? An herb that is used to treat a multitude of disorders, not the least of which are anxiety, depression and mood disorders. And, all the while diverting attention and funds from the tracking and arrests of real criminals that cook meth in their apartments while their children sleep in the same room, that smoke crack in alleys under bedroom windows, that shoot heroine in barroom bathrooms, or that sell to minors, or use minors to sell for them! Where are your priorities? Your sound like George Bush. It's all about a grudge, not logic.

I don't understand the big deal. He smoked pot. That would make him worse at swimming not better. It's not like he was caught doing steroids. If he's been smoking all this time imagine how many more medals he could have one if he didn't

He's a kid barely in his 20's at a party. This bong gets passed around among many people. I smell a set-up, and some little rat wanted the picture to sell. All Phelps did was to sow a few very mild oats at a party where raging hormones are the rule. Alcohol is so much more damaging to our bodies and our society. The laws against weed are obsolete and on their way out. Not nearly soon enough, though. The monies/fines weed generates keeps the system afloat, but the side effects are that they bog down the system and allow for no room in prison to keep the serious criminals. It's time for a change in how we treat this substance.

Just so you all know, marijuana is only illegal because in the early 1900's hempseed oil was the leading fuel in America, and the oil industry wasn't pleased with this so they lobbyed and sucessfully got all strains of cannabis made illegal in every way(1937 I believe). It had nothing to do with worries about drug abuse. For the record hemp is a wonderfully useful plant by the way with a multitude of uses. There is no reason for it to be illegal. The oil industry did the same thing with the electric car. Go ahead and blow it all off as a "crazy conspiracy theory" but do a little research before you do. You'll see that I'm correct. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean people aren't after you. When people don't pay attention to what's happening in the world, you would be surprised what you can get away with. Hell, turn on the news. OMG! Some douchebag rapper beat up his girlfriend! OMG! so-and-so won American Idol! OMG! Someone smoked marijuana at a party! Do you think you actually have any idea what's happening in the world? Scroll up to the top of this page and look at all the "news" stories you can read about. At the moment I'm writing this, they're all about facebook, HD tvs, Adobe computer viruses, and Phelps smoking some pot. Thank God I'm so informed now. Wait, what do you mean that thousands of people are killed daily in genocides around the world while we spend all of our time and money and attention on chicken shit like how cheap the oil we import from the middle east is and what's on MTV tonight?
