14-Year-Old Sets 'Guitar Hero' Guinness World Record
The game -- in case you've been living under a rock -- lets you "play" numerous songs on a toy guitar, approximating the the feel of strumming a real guitar without having to sit through years of guitar lessons. Danny Johnson (aka Danny Fcing) got the world record with a score of 973,954 in the game, an amazing 99-percent completion. It's impressive, but watch the video above and you'll see him do even better, scoring a perfect 100 percent completion. Regardless of what you think about the merit of the game or what Danny could be doing better with his time, it's an impressive achievement and kudos to him!

WOW. It doesn't matter what you think of GH, thats still amazing. I mean he barely used two hads on the frets (Some parts he did with 1 hand have notes that are EXTREMELY close together)
But anyways I think he could be really good at guitar.. I mean look at the way he strums..
JackFeb 25th 2009 11:32PM

LALALALALAFeb 9th 2009 9:36PM
wow, this guy has talent. All of u who said it's fake, ur just jealous. U can tell it's not. If u actually went through the directions on how to play u'd know there's short cuts to make it easier. He's not cheating. :p
macbeth41mFeb 9th 2009 10:04PM

cumquatFeb 9th 2009 10:19PM
Kid, get a life. Imagine how many hours this kid needs to do this for to do it that well. My brother plays this for 7-8 hours straight almost every day and he hasn't done this good yet. Play a game, get a girlfriend, count marbles, do something besides this game!
omgkennyFeb 9th 2009 11:17PM
cumquat no one cares about you or your damn brother. We don't need to here your story on how much your brother swallows at gh either.
"Play a game, get a girlfriend, count marbles, do something besides this game!" Why don't you do all those things but here is a better version for you
Play a game, get a girlfriend, count marbles, do something besides flamming like a total fag who has no life!
Now **** off. I hate all you flammers and haters.
timFeb 9th 2009 10:22PM
hahaha he got so good with his hands working in the sweat shops his whole life, then broke out of them and stole an xbox! just like the rest of the useless arabian fags. congratulations kid, you are officialy gay!
Paul PFeb 9th 2009 10:31PM

let me know what you think about this.

if you really play guitar then how can you not notice the fact the button patterns are quite close the scales that totman and li use in the actual song. give that kid a month on an ibanez and i'm betting he could shred based on the facts that his hands already have the muscle memory and dexterity needed. oh and his sense of rythm is dead on.
TJFeb 9th 2009 10:45PM
u dont have to tilt it for star power, its called the + button -.-
why is there a hater in every article, too many angry people in this world. i can only hope it leads to your end
NickFeb 9th 2009 10:51PM
well you can say all you want about this being fake and that its impossible and that he has too much time on his hands. well if you actually think about it, most 14 year old's don't have jobs or any sort of life because they don't need one yet. I'm sure this kid has a lot of friends that promote him to play this game. just cause you can't do it doesn't mean it's fake, so just watch and enjoy.
SallyFeb 10th 2009 8:17PM
DAM!!!! He's good =]
omgkennyFeb 9th 2009 11:13PM
to macbeth41m and all you FREAKING HATERS! This kid is not a fat ass for doing something YOU GUYS CANT DO. You guys are just FU**ING JEALOUS. You guys also need to LEARN HOW TO TYPE. Not like "oz mn i'm so G and 1337 for typzing like a fag u suk all u suk". Learn how to type damnit. This is possible you guys are just to stupid and blind to see that. Also WHO THE **** CARES IF YOU PLAY THE REAL GUITAR. If your so good at it like you say you are i wanna see you make it in the freaking yahoo pages or any pages. You haters are just faggots who have nothing to do but bring people down. You guys are probably people who have no life. Also worry about yourself not the kid. I bet you he has enough problems as it is and DOSENT NEED YOU FAGS TO BRING HIM DOWN.
Also rock on dude. It be awesome if you could learn that on the real guitar. You would be famous probably lol.
P.S macbeth41m no one cares if you play the guitar or not because you probably suck at it. So stop flamming the damn kid you a$$
RavenKaizerFeb 9th 2009 11:34PM

jeffFeb 9th 2009 11:33PM
that is the geekiest thing ive ever seen. if that was my son, I'd kill myself.
Tman09Feb 9th 2009 11:42PM
At 5:53 he strums with his elbow, he didnt need to movie his hand back down from the buttons to the strum bar
tenfoot777Feb 9th 2009 11:51PM
kid, you're really good
now stop wasting your time on such an insult to music of a game
and pick up a real guitar
if half the people in the world who play guitar actually devoted the time they spend playing that piece of garbage, and instead used it to play an actual guitar, they might find its a much more rewarding experience
but don't get me wrong, that kids got talent.
its just being wasted on such a stupid poser game
BuddyFeb 10th 2009 1:41AM
guitar hero is in no way a representation of guitar playing. it is more like playin piano. for all you gamers, try increasing that to 6 lines representing guitar strings and then use 19-24 frets and then do some string skipping and arpegios and then hmmm.. lets add a few notes together and make whats called a chord... spare me, guitar hero is retarded. I started playing guitar when i was 5, lead guitar at 14 and i am now 39. I have some of the fastest fingers in this part of Iowa. guitar hero is an insult to guitar playing and music as a whole. get a grip u wannabe guitar players

Getting a score above 300,000 points on "Through the Fire and the Flames" is exceptionally difficult, even for players who can play on the Expert difficulty on every song in the game. The problem comes with being unable to keep a 4x combo on the song, even if you hit 87% of the notes (something I've done when I played the song with friend of mine). As for the song "One" by Metallica, multiple people have scored above 600,000 points on the song on the Expert difficulty. (Speaking to Brian) You're inability to break 200,000 points on the song is somewhat astounding, as the 400,000 point mark is extremely easy to break. As to someone's comment about playing the game for too long, it doesn't take that long to get good at the game. An hour or so for about a month and you should be playing on the Expert difficulty. Another hour or so a month and you should be consistently hitting 90% or more of the notes on a majority of songs (you should also be able to beat nearly every song in whichever variety/version of the game you are playing). After that it's mostly up to the innate skill of the individual player. Further comments, Jesus' post contained at least one useful thing: the link to the ScoreHero website (the home page is www.scorehero.com). This site is quite reputable should someone want to do research about people's achievements in any of the Guitar Hero games. Obviously YouTube is also a pretty good source to see videos of people FC-ing (Full Comboing, i.e. getting 100%) a song. One last comment: brush up on your grammar. Seriously, it's very distracting when a person cannot read someone's comment because they used the wrong word (like "threw" instead of "through"), verb tense, sentence structure, punctuation, and so on.
