Prices are not known yet, but let's hope the folks in Redmond are planning to at least keep the costs lower than the wallet-incinerating prices of Vista. Here's a breakdown of the upcoming Windows 7 versions and their likely uses and markets:
- Windows 7 Starter - for netbooks and other low power PCs
- Windows 7 Home Basic - aimed at emerging markets and bargain PCs
- Windows 7 Home Premium - the standard bearer
- Windows 7 Professional - adds business friendly networking features
- Windows 7 Enterprise - for big businesses, licenses sold in bulk only
- Windows 7 Ultimate - probably has all of the features of the other versions crammed into one absurdly priced package

All you cocky mac users thing you're so great. I tried a MAC. I wasn't pleased. It was uncomfortable. They don't have capability to do anything other than internet and apple software. OS X isn't open to that many 3rd party applications. Yes they are fast and stylish, but they have no compatibility or features. They are an expensive netbook except faster. They have fewer viruses. Windows 7 is a great OS. Same with Vista. XP can run with less power, but one virus kills your computer. Windows 7 runs on less than Vista, and the retards who complain about either are just queer mac enthusiusts in disguised. They tell people to switch to macs. Windows 7 is the gift-child of Vista and XP. It got the best features of both. Since, it is new it has fewer viruses. Of course it has bugs; its in beta testing. If you want to downgrade, then do so. Stop your complaining if you can't run Vista or 7 on 1 or 2 GB of RAM, Pentium processor, and a crappy graphics card. Usually the hardware is a bigger problem than software. The software that ruins it is the stupid freeware you download. Stop your whining. That's why Microsoft will top Apple in all computer related areas.

I find it sad that every time an article about Windows is made, there's always some crazed MAC fanboys demanding people to dump Windows and go with a MAC or I see a bunch of disgruntled Vista users telling others to stick with XP. Everyone has their own preferences and tastes in an OS. Just because someone has Windows or a MAC and you have the opposite doesn't make you a smarter consumer. You just have something that caters to your needs.
Right On, Steven
What is wrong with Vista. XP is OK. Vista is faster and I've never had a problem. The reason I haven't is that I'm not expecting it to run on a calculator's hardware. Windows 7 is a better Vista. MACs are not flexible or useful for more than basic tasks.
Typical MAC user:
"I used to have Vista. It broke and I hated it. I should have switched to OS X earlier. "
Total Bullcrap!
