Oprah-Approved Content Oddly Lacking on the Oprah-Approved Kindle

After the TV talk show queen threw her hefty cultural weight behind her "new favorite gadget" last year, legions of fans ran out and bought the hideous-looking (but admittedly useful) Kindle, only to find that less than half of the books in the Oprah Book Club were available for download on the device. Oddly enough, neither of Oprah's magazines ('O' and 'O at Home') were available for the eReader. It turns out that this is still the case.
We're a little surprised at such a lack of planning from someone clearly trying to take over the world. On the plus side, it may mean we'll be able to find a lot of low-priced, slightly used Kindles on eBay from disgruntled Oprah fans. [From: The Register]

People these days can't think for themselves. We are a country of followers and "O" has made millions because of that fact. We need to get a grip and think for ourselves ~ especially with the President we now have who got elected because of that fact. We need to not be lead like cattle to slaughter following his every word ~ he's mistaken in many of his words and ways. We need to follow GOD's word, not a man's period!!

Oprah, I dont watch your show anymore since I found out that you have turn into a backsliding christian and telling your fans there other ways to get to heaven other than through Jesus Christ. And that we are all Gods ! Have you been dipping into the dark occult worlds. There is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. You need to be watch Joyce Meyers and she'll lead you back to Jesus!

Not that surprising really, that many of the book club selections aren't available on Kindle yet. They're older books, which are sometimes harder to find in Kindle versions at this point (it's only been a year). It's a matter of whether the publisher has gotten around to making it available in e-book form yet. As far as the magazines go, the Kindle isn't really a good platform for a magazine as picture-heavy as Oprah's magazines. And O at Home is folding anyway. Not all content is suitable for the Kindle.

Sigh...People, people, people. I've seen this conversation stretch from the kindle then to race, then to her weight, then to negativity about her wealth, then her hypocrisy. Really people, wasn't this discussion about Oprah's endorsement of the Kindle? I read through the first page of this and grew gradually unimpressed. I thought this was at least a competently intelligent discussion. Not intelligent but fair-minded or objective. Personally, I gotta say given she didn't riddle the gadget with her Book club selections and her magazine probably means she really just wanted people to know about it. But I also agree on her making mistakes in the past, that is a definite. I think she underestimated her power and influence a lot of the times (Hamburger comment and such) I mean, how would you know that with a single sentence from your mouth, you could spell disaster for the stock market? Remember as well people that she is also human and she is her own person, do whatever she likes, rent 15000 dollar rooms and all that and to some extent weigh whatever she wants to weigh. This is a long argument and I'm too tired to continue so I'll just post even if it isn't all that I wanted to address. Please don't be fooled, I'm not a huge fan of Oprah but I do recognize effort and humility wherever it is. And I am also not a goody goody humble person who is objective or appreciates things, you now, like those people who endear themselves to everybody and their kind and welcoming. Don't be fooled. But don't be spiteful by attacking her so lowly and showing your crudeness and lack of refinement. Honestly, I thought wrong about this blog.
