Whoopi Goldberg Going Back to Sci-Fi -- on the Web

The Oscar-winning actress and current host of 'The View' is starring in and producing a new online sci-fi thriller series called 'Stream' on FEARnet. FEARnet is a horror Web site and video-on-demand network. Goldberg had briefly retired as an actress, but the 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' alum saw the chance to reach a new audience in a cutting-edge medium and jumped at the chance.
"The idea that you can be at work and check out a webisode tickles me because that is the future... I can reinvent my way of acting so that I challenge myself and see where it takes me for the second half of my life," she said.
In "Stream," Goldberg stars as Jody Quinn, a troubled woman at war with herself. The series comprises six five-minute episodes that detail three distinct periods in the woman's life. The first episode premieres January 15 on FEARnet.

Famous Cyborgs
Summer Glau plays 'Cameron,' a vaguely human 'Terminator' on the side of the good guys (or so we think).
Don't forget, Darth Vader was once a regular human dude. Then he became sci-fi's most famous cyborg.
Lindsay Wagner as 'The Bionic Woman,' in the original 1976 series about a cyborg secret agent.
Tricia Helfer as a Cylon in TV's remake of 'Battlestar Galactica.'
Lee Majors as Steve Austin, who is rebuilt into half man/half cyborg robot with super human strength in the 1970s TV show 'The Six Million Dollar Man." He'd probably cost a lot more these days, no?
Evil Terminator from the future in 'Terminator 2.'
Daryl Hannah plays a replicant in 1981's 'Blade Runner.'
Jean-Luc PIcard as Locatus in TV's 'Star Trek: The Next Generation."

If this new venture produces more income so she could take a bath, I'm all for it. She is the most dreadful, dirtiest looking person on TV.

My son and I are Whoopie's fans for life. *Color Purple *Jumping Jack Flash *Ghost *Sister Act *Guinan in Star Trek:TNG, just to name a few. We Love you Whoopie! My desire is to see a Sci-fi "Guinan" show. That character was left curiously in mystery. There might be alot of territority to be explored there. To answer the question, "What do people see in Star Trek?" Star Trek fans are generally pretty intelligent, unlike bigots. Also, we love Joy, too!

YEA WHOPPI'S FUNNY BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH AN UGLY WOMEN IN MY LIFE. SHE'S HARD ON THE EYES, AND THAT JOY SOUNDS LIKE SCRATCHING ON A CHALK BOARD.

Loved Whoopie Goldberg in "Ghost." She's a fantastically funny stand up comedian, loved her skits with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams, always looked forward to their being together. On the "View" she's the mediator and knows exactly what to say and do at the right time, and she does tolerate Elisabeth.
Whoopie Goldberg is genuinely a good person, charitable and honest, as well as staying private in her personal life.
Looking forward to seeing Whoopie in other movies and plays. Wishing her much good luck for future successes.

Wouldn't doubt that Whoopi would be moving on from "The View," as she's not one to indulge in conflicts and Elisabeth is enough to make the most passive person what to stand up and pull their hair out yelling at this spewing ignorant, spoiled brat, whom has nothing constructive to say, and is rude to the guests and the other co-hosts, never allowing them to get a word in edgewise. Sherry is bad, but Elisabeth is truly the downfall of the show. Just wondering how long it is that the co-hosts come and go before the executive producers realize that Elisabeth is their ruination. Just don't understand how they've kept Elisabeth on for this long? One reason may be, she's related to someone in production, and they're keeping her on as a favor. Whoopi's not ignorant and would tire of the immature banter of this spoiled opinionated, obnoxious brat, Elisabeth. I watched for Whoopi, but have since stopped watching, as Elisabeth is for me, the worse co-host ever, never any constructive opinions.
Wishing Whoopi much future success in all her endeavors.

Can you imagine how dirty and sticky that mat of hair is. There's not way that stuff can be washed and cleaned. She looks like a poor homeless woman who doesn't bath very often.

WHOOPIE SHOULD BE ON THE TWILIGHT ZONE. SHE LOOKS DRUGED UP MOST OF THE TIME. WELL MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN HOLLY WEARD ARE.

Whoopi - is a far better person than most of the jealous individuals here. She has great control over who she is. I might not agree with her opinions but she never grates on me like Rosie O who didn't have class or manners whatsoever. Whoopi doesn't rub her skin color in your face as Rosie O calling everyone homophobic constantly. I know personally I could be friends with Whoopi but Rosie O, Babs, or Joy I would probably end up shooting them before the water was even poured. I can respect Whoopi more than most libs out of Hollywood Most of Hollywood is made up of ignorant, spoiled, over-paid, drug addicts, who believe they actually have an important thing to say and when they speak the show they should have kept their mouth shut. Yeah that's right TOM Hypocrite HANKS.

I get so sick of black entertainers. They have to talk over everybody else to make a point. I guess they figure a loud noise will compensate for lack of knowledge. All black comedians use filth and profanity to get a laugh from their degenerate audience. This is the future of America, and it is a shame these entertainers are allowed to muddy up this once great nation with their filthty language. The young kids are influenced by what they hear on T.V and this kind of degenerate behaviour is becoming common place in this country. Its no wonder the muslims call America the great satan. Just watch Black entertainment television, and you will know why ! Whatever happened to nice people like Bill Cosby, he had good clean comedy. But it seems the no talent jerks have taken over the black entertainment network.

I remember Whoopi Goldberg when she started doing her stage act in my hometown, New York City. She became a New York figure like Geraldo and Donald and Mayor Koch and old men selling hot chestnuts in Central Park. I have always been a great fan of her and I think she adds a street wise finesse to the View that is needed. I wish her great luck on her new project. Whoopi has always impressed her fan as quick and brilliant and a well loved personality

Jay Adler , when you said the words music critic you lost all credibility. Music critics, movie critics, and critics of any kind are a pompous bunch who make their living doing a useless, needless, overpaid, and unwanted service, and for the most part no one even cares a damn what you think or write in you're reviews. This is one occupation that has no value what so ever. Mean spirited people take delight in trying to derail the honest efforts of others endeavors.

Critics as you so aptly put it do not always please everyone but we are not exactly trying to placate our audience but instead give our provocative views on subjects that stimulate our readers in many ways. Blowing off steam just as you did about my professional commentary is credible and an acknowledgement of our great country where you can go off like that and get away with it. Your opinion is noted and filed, thank you for your response and good luck.

Whoopie's roots are in comedy, not sci-fi. She had a career before doing Star Trek Next Generation.

Whoopi Goldberg is one of America's brightest lights. Combining earthy humor with deep, pragmatic wisdom, when she talks, people listen. Thank god she kept working even while blacklisted by George W. Bush. Now that he's gone, she'll be free to make movies again. Yippee!!!!
