Finland Asks Parents to Limit Kids' Cell Phone Use

Newsroom Finland reports that the country's Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) has announced that parents should limit the amount of cell phone use among their children.

"Although studies carried out thus far have not shown mobile phone radiation to have had any adverse impact on health, prudence is advised when it comes to children as not all the effects are known," said the organization's statement. It urged parents to encourage their kids to text rather than call and to use a hands-free devices rather than stick the phones up to their noggins.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of worrying early results from an ongoing study on the effects of cell phone usage. Considering Finland is a country where babies are actually born with Nokia phones in their hands, it's probably a good idea to follow their lead. [From: Textually]
