Cool Gadgets You'll See in 2009, (Part 1) 13

boxee, a promising entry into the world of media streaming software, is looking better than ever. Although the free application isn't brand new, boxee was showing off its recently updated version of the boxee app. From the comfort of your couch (or favorite computer chair), you can use a remote to browse and watch video, listen to your iTunes music library, and view your photos. The app's real draw, though, it its ability to pull in video content from media sites like Hulu, Comedy Central, and even Netflix (if you have a Netflix account). Similarly, you can connect to your last.fm and flickr accounts -- the software is open source, so expect more social networking compatibility in the future.
Although the software is currently Mac/Ubuntu only, a Windows version is in slated for early 2009.
