We knew it was bound to happen eventually. ASUS has taken its successful Eee line and turned it into a highly portable tablet PC. All the details are not set in stone, but we do know that you'll be able to use your finger or a stylus on the 8.9-inch screen (no multi-touch sorry) and that it'll come stocked with Windows XP and the same Atom processor that powers current Eee netbooks.
What really makes this convertible exciting, though, is that ASUS plans to sell the device with built-in GPS and a TV tuner (probably not useful in the US) for $499. If it meets the planned price point and March launch date (to be honest, we have our doubts), then ASUS may be able to retake its place atop the netbook pile.
