Best HDTVs Under $1000

We hate to say it, particularly since you're probably trying to save money, but now is a pretty good time to buy an HDTV. You can still find some great TVs in that size for less than $1,000. So, in order of ascending price, take a look at our picks for best TVs under $1,000. [If you're looking for an explanation of all those TV and tech terms, make sure to take a look at 5 Things to Consider Before Buying an HDTV]. Dah let the people bury themselves in a hole. If you do not save money that is what you are going to do. It is fun to watch. People on the news crying because they cannot make ends meet. I do not feel sorry for them
***********Just like GM...the union will not agree to a pay cut. So give the union the raise they ask for. and GM will dissolve into empty space. Which is what the union deserves. The pay raise they fight for causes them to lose their job. so who wins? I do...I buy Toyota. Better quality anyway. They are not asking Congress for tax money.
So who needs a HUGE TV. No one. I use a 32 inch and it is 8 years old. Save your money people. it will drive down the cost. Just lke gas. People were not driving anywhere because of the cost and look what happened to gas prices.......uhhhh...they dropped.

Steve :
your anti-union bias ill becomes you. Either you are a wealthy individual who shills for the rich corporations or you are a sadly misinformed working stiff who has been programmed by FOX News and other main stream media to hate workers, hate yourself and middle/working class people in general. Perhaps you don't work at all and are envious that someone else may have one of those last remaining, good paying union jobs that you do not. Perhaps you don't have health care benefits and are selfish enough to think that because you don't have it, no one should.. The union jobs have allowed the middle class to exist and make this country strong. Their demise will hurt all of us in the race to the bottom as American workers are forced to compete with third world wages and benefits. Wise up friend..

Hey Steve, I work at ford and I agree that the big 3 should not get the buy out as well. I have been there for 10 years and since I have been there the stock in the company has slowly dropped from over $30 to below $2, it isnt like they couldnt see this coming, they refuse to change then and they wont change now. I am not a big union guy either, the union at our plant would rather get drunk and play poker or go on a trip to Vegas on our dues to learn..............nothing that I have seen put into action. But one thing I must say is that with the past 6 years we have not gotten a pay raise, not a single red penny. And the union is not asking for a raise now, we have made many concessions that the LAME STREET media seems to keep out of the headlines. As in this past presidential election when the media was in love with not reporting the inexperience of Obama they seem to not report what we as the workers under the unions thumb have given up already. I truly would like a raise at least once every ten years if not for my sake for my familys. And another thing that the media does not seem to tell as well, and again, I drive a mazda and a ford just so you know I am bias, ford has better quality and less recalls than toyota does. check out the j.d. power web page for those facts. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

It is people like you that should do a little study about the subject that you are giving comments about. You are so off base . There were a reason for the start of unions. They create the middle class & the rich upper class (Bush & the elephant people) been trying for 10 years to destroy it. Well they are real close to it. You want to destroy the last of the good wages that support the country. IF YOU WANT to be a poor third world country , we are almost there. You will either be the top 10% rich or the bottom 90% poor. You will receive what you ask for!!!

You have been mislead and misinformed. The problems faced by the domestic automakers stem from the fact that foreign automakers are subsidized by their governments and in part by our own government. They have been so subsidized for decades. The concepts of fair trade and a level playing field are myths. Elsewhere in the world, working class folk have enjoyed universal health care paid for by their respective governments. This factor ALONE amounts to $1,000.00/month - give or take - for the average wage earner making parts for each auto, assembling each auto, transporting each auto to market...This factor ALONE over the past 30-40 years has rendered domestic automakers UNCOMPETITIVE...However, there are many other factors...Even in the face of patently unfair manufacturing and trade conditions, our good old USA worker OUTPERFORMED his/her counterparts world wide. I think that once the bosses get their heads into the game, we will once again be the leader...the Unions have not been perfect, BUT, they did not cause the problems of the domestic automakers in general or those that showed up in DC asking for taxpayer handouts in private Lear Jets??? Your particular lack of knowledge about how the world automanufacting economy evolved say, since WWII is obvious...your lack of knowledge about the need for more unions and Unionism in this country is even more obvious...If you are willing to learn more, I will be glad to help all I can.

Cruisenot and SteveWard3928 are right on with their remarks. Good comments. Could not have said it better.

Right on mbooth!!! If workers do not unite, they will be made to suffer so the rich can get richer.
BCRODec 17th 2008 7:29PM
Honestly... people like Stevo up there sicken me. NO ONE should find it "fun" to watch people suffer. I am eighteen years old, so this union stuff doesn't affect me directly and maybe this country bottoming out is what it needs to wise up and better itself. Right or wrong I don't know. What I am getting at is the selfishness in this country. GO DO SOMETHING TO MAKE THIS A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE! Be kind to people. Weather you agree or disagree with their job and/or situation doesn't give you the right to find humor in it. I will be the first to say that this is a scary world to live in because people make poor choices but if you have it better of than they do then congrats but don't rub it in their face. Go be a volunteer at a mission on Christmas, donate to a charity (clothes, food, toys, money, ect.), or go help out on a community project for a needy family or lower class part of town. People like you will not benefit this planet or anyone on this planet. All you aid in is making things worse. It was just thanksgiving. Maybe someone out there could have been thankful for someone like you if you would show that you had a heart. Make a change and help someone out. Be friendly and not a Scrooge it is Christmas time afterall.
PeterDec 17th 2008 7:54PM
For a 18 year old you are very mature, which really surprises me. I would guess good parents raising you right, and not following some of most young people, tatoos, piercings ,shaved heads etc. Guess what you made my day I had just about giving up on the younger generation. I am 69, Happy Holidays to you and your parents, who have done it right. Peter

I so agree with you. More Americans need to get rid of the me, me, me syndrome and think about others in our country. It takes a village (remember?). We will all benefit and our country will advance. So, if you have the basics, help out OUR homeless, unfed kids, and people that need expensive surgeries--the list is endless. Carol

This country should be ashamed of itself. We give aid to other countries knowing we will noy be paid back. We need to help ourselves before worrying about the rest of the world. That is part of the reason for the shape we are in, we stick our big noses where they do not belong. Get out of these oil wars, drill here, we have enough oil and goods produced and grown here to take care of our own country, why don't we start doing that. No person in the USA should be homeless or have decide if they are going to eat or take their medicine; this is not the country our founding fathers wanted for us. The rich get richer and well the rest of us can rot as far as they are concerned!
JanelleDec 18th 2008 10:29PM
Peter: Your just about giving up on teenagers? Because of tattos, and piercings? Really? You know what...alot of the kids your talking about are very good artistic kids who just like to be different. I'm a mother who has 3 eyebrow piercings, 10 tattos and yes, I'm a christian who attends a local church, volunteers my time by doing bulletins each week, donates to charities and rides a motorcycle! I'm also a member of a christian motorcycle association. Please consider thinking outside the box...just because it was "bad" when you were a kid doesn't mean that know. We do things to be different...maybe our tattoos have a special meaning to us (I have one in memory of my mother who died when I was 31; and another one for my brother and father who died when I was 10 and 8 consecutively).
I hope you have a very good holiday season. God Bless..I just wanted you to be more aware of our children out there...they are not all bad.
