Almost Half of Women Prefer Internet to Sex, Study Finds

We've recently seen how British housewives are indicating that they spend the majority of their free time online. But, we didn't realize just what women were giving up in order to get their Facebook fix. A new study is showing that roughly half of women would rather give up sex for two weeks than go without the Internet for the same period of time.
The study was commissioned by Intel and shows that 46-percent of all women would rather give up sex for two weeks than the Internet for two weeks. When looking at the 35-to-44-year-old age group, that number increased to 52-percent. Among men, the number was much lower, 30-percent on average, and just 23-percent in the 35-to-44-year-old group. Perhaps that disparity has given rise to the great sex with robots debate.
How about you, which would you rather give up? [From: The Wall Street Journal]

To Keith,
Keith, you say you are 49 and looking for a woman 30 to 50. Let us do the math (+1 or -19). If a woman 19 years older than you (age 68) would you be interested?
Why don't you pick a number like 5. Five years younger is 44 and five years older is 54. That is your range.

Oh come one people! If you're that bored with Sex that you have to bang away on your computer instead then buy a gun and pull the trigger. You should enjoy sex with as many multipal partners as possible because their will come a day when looks fade and your sex parts deteriorate and you'll wish you would have had more sex.
If you're bored, go find another partner to have sex with. It's ONLY SEX...and you don't have to be single to enjoy a full life! :)

sex appears to be mostly satisfying for the guy. or mine is not that great in bed,, I have unlmited internet and am only on 20 min a day to have time for my guy, he, however is on all day long. , so I would rather read a good novel, have a glass of wine and a bubble bath,,,,because he has the tv and internet for his sex. his choice till a guy comes along that has a clue...

People have to be nuts! I would rather have a warm female body next to me engaged in Hot pleasure than having a cold electronic computer! Nothing like the feel of a womans flesh under my hands, and her warm lips to kiss! Wanting to know her very essence! Feeling her soul on fire while being deep inside her! How can you beat that?

being a woman i know i can always have sex 2 weeks is no big deal its always there and i can always make up for those 2 weeks. on the other hand internet is a way to do many things communicating with family and friends working educating myself about many things including sex and dont forget shopping. besides men and women can have sex without a partner at least for 2 weeks!!!
tomDec 13th 2008 9:41AM
Depends on who I'm going to have sex with. Heidi Klum or.... Rosie?

Sorry if I double posted this...
I understand and have heard for years how many of my fellow guys are lousy in bed and agree that could tilt the poll a bit. In the defense of some guys, ladies, you also need to realize past a certain age, most guys need more than a little foreplay, too. Remember back in the day when your older relative had a TV for a long time and in its last few years, it worked fine, but just needed about 30 seconds to "warm up?" Same principle. Nasty trick by God: women peak and men figure out what the heck they're doing at around the age most men -- most, not all -- hit a ski slope decline.
That aside, I kind of thought about the poll this way, based on the experience of myself and my married friends (male and female)...
Sometimes, between kids, work and activities -- especially if you're actually being a parent instead of just the person who donated half the chromosomes -- you wind up not having sex for two weeks. Or more. You're simply exhausted, you don't bother scheduling time or when you do, you conk out before playtime, whatever. As Bernie Mac hilariously put it, "I'm old, I'm tired, my body is weary. So, you've got three minutes! Three minutes! I'm not trying to set any records here..." That goes for both genders (wife and I are well into middle age). So, going two weeks without sex? Hey, been there, done that, lived through worse.
But considering how much we use the Internet for work, communication, information and maybe a few snatches of pleasure during the day -- reading Popeater, TMZ, reading funny comments, seeing a couple of hot photos on MySpace or Facebook -- it feels weird to go a few days even on a week's vacation totally unplugged. Two weeks sans Internet? AAAUUUUGGGHH!!!

I honestly do not understand these responses and this survey. I'm a 29-year-old woman with two kids and one on the way and I couldn't let a week go by (most of the time, two days go by) without making love to my husband. I could live without the internet forever if it meant that I was in the arms of my sweet and sexy husband every night. We actually don't even own a television for this very reason...too much technology is a terrible thing for relationships. I don't know why so many women my age (and younger and older, actually) grow so bitter that they withhold the one thing that will keep them sleeping well and satisfied and grow their relationship. I know several women, just like Karen, who say things like, "he's going to have to do a lot more than bring me flowers...to get me back into bed." For goodness sake, at least he's trying something and do yourself a favor and forgive him and hop back into the sack...it will benefit both of you. Life is too short to not have amazing sex (or at least try) on a regular basis. Stop reading this now and initiate something right now!

Most men are very bad in bed. And they don't want to learn. It is so not macho to listen to women. So most wmen do not have any fun. So why do it?
atomicDec 13th 2008 9:54AM
PULEASE! Most women don't want sex....they want BABIES! Also.....something goes off in a womans head when it comes to "drama". Its probably very similar to a sexual experience. Thats what they like about the internet so much...the celebrity gossip and shopping! I can assure you...these women are not visiting the WALL STREET JOURNALS web page! LOL! Women crave drama. If none occurs naturally....then by god they WILL manufacture some!
AngiebabyDec 13th 2008 10:01AM
What's the big deal? In the age range they polled, most of the women will have been married for some time, and it may not be unusual to go two weeks without having sex. In other words, there's nothing to give up in place of the Internet. In America, sex declines as soon as the preacher declares you man and wife. I'm thinking it's even worse in Britain! I mean, they look a frumpy and unhappy as we do....
