Discovery Throws a Boatload of Tech at JFK Conspiracies
Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory. Whether you're the paranoid type who thinks the government is hiding lizard people in the basement of Area-51, or if you simply revel in debunking conspiracies as ridiculous nonsense, you can't help but get sucked into the almost romantic notion of some larger, possibly nefarious scheme being carried out behind closed doors. The Discovery Channel is always down for putting the kibosh on crazy-eyed speculation. Whether it's government cover-ups of alien encounters or faked moon landings, wilder assertions about world events (and the debunking of them) are this channel's bread-and-butter.
The latest conspiracy to be put to the test by the edutainment network is the assassination of JFK. Through modern blood splatter analysis and computer simulation, a team of scientists and forensic experts were able to rule out ideas of a second gunman on the grassy knoll. The team recreated the scene of the crime, including complex, lifelike, analogues for the slain president and his companions in the motorcade, as well as landmarks such as the book depository and the "grassy knoll."
Discovery claims that the pair of forensic experts performing the blood splatter analysis had no idea that the experiment was a recreation of the JFK assassination or that it was for a TV special -- we find that incredibly hard believe, considering how iconic of an image JFK's motorcade and the book depository are.
The special, 'JFK: Inside the Target Car,' airs Sunday, November 16 at 9 PM, EST. [From: MSNBC]

" crazy-eyed speculation. Whether it's government cover-ups of alien encounters"....--well, the fact that there are many EYEWITNESSES on record to alien encounters & UFO sightings and some of the witnesses are reliable people whose careers have been ruined by their revelations (sheriffs, pilots)- begs at least some consideration before bieng labeled as crazy.
"we find that incredibly hard believe," I thought 'area 5' was a typo, but then realized that this was written by an illiterate journalist (?). The jury's still out for me, but anyone who tries to discredit anyone else without knowing all the facts, is suspicious enough. Notice how anyone who dares question the 'official' story of 9/11 is immediately asked if they believe in the Loch Ness monster and Bigfoot. Or labeled as a 'paranoid type'.

You are correct in your statement that there are many eye-witness accounts of UFO's. Unfortunately, anecdotal stories never stand up well in court. In spite of the many eye witness acounts, there is not one single shred of evidenct that alien beings have ever visited our planet earth.

And they were able to show that the magic bullet really did zig-zag through the air, penetrate both Conally and Kennedy and arrive pristine on a stretcher at Parkland Hospital! After that, they all covered themselves in pixie dust and flew to Neverland, where they danced with the cryogenically frozen remains of Walt Disney! Santa stopped by with the tooth fairy, the Esater Bunny and al the little elves for a reunion concert by all four Beatles!

Much of the conspiracy theory developed as the Warren Commission refused to hear witnesses who insisted that shots were fired at Kennedy from the front. But why would the Commission listen to them when, in spite of their testimony, the "best evidence" -- the body -- was proof that it was shot from behind.
However, a comparison of the doctor's description of the body as it left Dallas with the pathogist's description of the body at autopsy suggests that the evidence had been tampered with, the body had been altered.
David Lifton, in his book "Best Evidence," provides an intriguing theory of how a frontal entrance wound can be enlarged to (1) look like an exit wound and (2) allow for the removal of evidence, bullets.
Furthermore, he provides interesting insight into 3 separate entrances of Kennedy's coffin into the morgue as a shell game is played with the body, the ceremonial coffin and a shipping casket. An interesting timeline is proposed which demonstrates that the alterations could have happened and that the legal "chain of evidence" had been broken as an empty coffin was treated as though the body was still inside. Thus, the body is impeached as evidence.

The Warren Commission report itself was trashed by Congress in 1987(?). The skull x-rays show a small entry hole by the temple and a large exit wound at the back of the head. Damn, 1/4 of his brain ended up on the trunk of the car. The throat wound was the one that was enlarged by the treachiotomy and exited the back thus appearing to come from the back. Only the bullet that missed came from the back but from where no one knows for sure.
Expert markmen were never able to duplicate the trick of three shots with that rifle and its sticky bolt action. Like the official 9/11 story both are physically impossible.

Well Larry, I have seen the "three shots in six seconds" replicated at least twice on documentaries using that same "sticky bolt action" and each time they got off the shots in time. You also fail to account how the bullets you claim came from the front hit the governor AFTER they hit Kennedy. Did they do a 180?
In Zapruder's film, you see Kennedy grab his throat. That same bullet was probably the same one that hit Connally. The shot that hit Kennedy's head, entered, blew out the left top side of his brain and either deviated from it's trajectory or was the "pristine" bullet found on the stretcher. If you look at that bullet, it's obvious it has been fired and impacted either soft tissue or some other object (bone from Connally).
You also fail to address that Kennedy was 240 feet from the book depository when the shooting started. Not very far, plus the motorcade had slowed to make the turn in front of the depository. Everyone assumes that Oswald worked the bolt three times during the shooting, when anyone who has used a rifle knows you can put the first round in and need to work the bolt only twice in six seconds. Since the motorcade was at one of it's slowest points when the first shot was fired, that was the neck shot, the second the head shot and the third a miss due to increased speed and Kennedy slumped over. As for the rifle shots, echoes, accoustics can easily account for confusion for the shooter's location. Oswald shot Kennedy all by himself, then Officer Tippet who tried to question him, which was what ultimately led to his arrest. Too bad, you should have stayed with Roswell on this one.

You cannot conduct an investigation when there is no evidence, the vehicle was cleaned up and repaired, the bodies are buried and not to be exhumed for television. Everyone who was there is dead and the film that you would use to draw your conclusions from is antiquated and blurry. Just more popcorn sales sponsored by the Discovery channel.

Originally, this was a show with a 'test'. Somewhere along the line it became an 'investigation' 'commissioned' by the DC. It takes a very narrow stance and even its premise, which is a redux of the WCR, falls prey to the fallacy of false alternatives.
It is disappointing that the show is making so many fantastic claims. They seem to think they have the power to shut down research. Well, as my Mother would say, 'they have another think coming'.

Kennedy's assination was coup by the NWO after Kennedy signed an executive order that would have started to wind down the Vietnam War . War kiddies is very profiable to the military industrial complex which controls this country , whatever you call it New Worl Order , or "Military industrial complex" the agenda is the same.
CONTROL , Control of Wealth , Control of Resources , Control of the population , and the systematic reduction of the popluation through natural disasters and manamde events, down to a billion or so "useful people". Kennedy went against the grand plan. And they killed him for it. The killers were not a lone nut gunman, Oswald was the "patsy" someone easily expenable so the rest could get away.
Elaine McKillopNov 17th 2008 7:39PM
I have stood in the spot where Oswald was suppose to have made the shots and I question why Oswald would not shoot when Kennedy was coming down the street straight at him and wait till he turned the corner and had to shoot at an angle making the shot more difficult. How do you explain Oswald and Barry Seal (spelling ?) attending the same CIA run flight school as teenagers? Propagandized reality can not be spoon fed to all of us. The highest levels of our government were involved and from that day we no longer had a free press or a free country. The same despots are in control. The shot that rang out all over the World was the signal to the end of our liberty. Read the Constitution. The only man in Washington that is guided by it is Ron Paul. Your version of history only appeals to brain dead zombies.

I remember the front page of the regional newspaper on the first anniversary of the assination of JFK featuring pictures (14 I believe) of the eye-wittnesses now reported as "all deceased!"I was living in Altadena,California so this would have been a widely distributed paper.Conspiracy or not,I have never believed in coincidence let alone every single witness dying within one year of coming forward. Moreover, why has no-one ever brought this information to light in all these years? Did this edition print an unsubstanciated rumor and get away with it?I would love to read your comment on this.
DedmanrisnNov 18th 2008 12:41AM
Y'all do tend to think things are all so complicated don't you? That it had to be a conspiracy to pull it off and the NWO or the MIC were involved because Kennedy was going to pull out of Vietnam.
Kennedy went to Dallas because there was a very real chance he may have lost the next election, not because he liked Texans all that much. You may blame the SS for not doing their job and closing all the windows in the book repository or failure to do a proper threat assessment of Dallas and the change in the motorcade route, but Kennedy called the shots, he changed the motorcade's route, not the SS and went with no top to enhance his appeal to the people.
Kennedy's asassination has turned into a cottage industry by idiots who keep the conspiracy going. Not all the witnesses died the first year, Zapruder wasn't murdered for his film and while some witnesses did die, there are still many who were there that day still breathing. As for the shots coming from behind and not the front is you have the windsheild in your way, Connally and a target decreasing range which would leave a chance for overshooting the target much higher. Going away, you let the target run into the bullet. All you need to do is hold and shoot. If the bullet goes straight, the first shot will hit the target, e.g. Kennedy's neck since Oswald probably held on his head. The next shot, Oswald held just over Kennedy's head and the car drove right into it's path. By then the motorcade was accelerating, Kennedy was slumped over and the third shot missed.
As for the government's actions, it was a year and a month since the Cuban Missle Crisis. Had there been any probability the USSR was involved, WWIII would have happened that day. Oswald had been to Russia and Cuba hadn't he? He was also a loser, couldn't keep a job, basically a nobody who got his 15 minutes of fame before Ruby shot him. Ruby was supposedly involved in the plot, yet he died and never confessed to any plot which is odd because he had terminal cancer, knew it, and no confession. Oliver Stone made a good movie with factual errors and deliberate distortions so it's no wonder everyone thinks it's a conspiracy. There are still sealed records that are to be opened 75 years after JFK's death, so if you wait that long, you might find out what really happened. That's 2035 and I'll be gone by then, but I'll stand by Oswald did it until someone proves different.

Why did Johnson order the records sealed for 75 years in the first place....Seventy five years ...my God I was only eleven that day and the chances of me being alive when the records can be opended are damn slim....if there was nothing to hide why lock everything up ? Simple as that ........
