Thief Takes Own Photo With Stolen Cell Phone, Gets Arrested

Okay, this story is just sad for a number of reasons. First off, an innocent woman who's lost gets her cell phone stolen while stepping out of her car to check a street sign. Not only is she lost, she's deaf. The man guilty of the crime? One Gary Walker from Bond Hill, Ohio.

We know who committed the crime because he's since been found and arrested. The reason for his undoing? He snapped a picture of himself using the stolen phone, and later, when the victim went online and downloaded her data to transfer it to a new phone, Gary's mug popped up. The rest, as they say, is history.

While we're thrilled the thief was caught, and even got some entertainment out of the story, it still boggles our mind how painfully careless crooks can be. Don't get us wrong, we absolutely do not condone crime, nor do we respect these people in the slightest regard. But the inner techies in us just feel a little frustrated some times in the same way that we feel frustrated when we try to watch someone figure out how to use a VCR (well, Blu-ray player now...) for the first time.
